#WomenDisobey: Arrests continuing here in the Hart building, it’s been 40 minutes and police have only led away about a quarter of the crowd.

#WomenDisobey: The last protesters have just been detained here in Hart. Hundreds of people arrested over almost two hours of constant chanting and singing.
#WomenDisobey: Plenty of cheers outside for women who were just arrested. They’re being mass processed at these long tables Capitol police set up in a nearby park.

(Thread) I spent 2017 documenting protest & activism in the DC area. It was a non-stop (ongoing!) beat, and 7,000+ photos later, here's some of the most unforgettable.
1. (1/20) #DisruptJ20, several anti-Trump protests blocks from the parade route. 200+ swept up in a mass arrest (upper left), facing riot charges. Most still awaiting trial.
2. (1/20) Early that morning, hundreds of protesters peacefully blockaded checkpoints into Trump's inaugural parade.
