Let's show them what great teamwork we are capable of in #TheResistance!
It begins today, so get your phones ready....

Sunday:
📜...ends the unnecessary so-called “zero-tolerance” immigration policy. We should reinstate the Family Case Management Program and use more humane, less-costly check-in methods.
Monday:
📜..ends the practice of separating families as a deterrent to legal asylum and refuge. Reuniting families needs to be a top priority. Is [name] aware of the tech solutions available to meet all reunion deadlines?
Tuesday:
📜...stops funding abuse. With nearly 200 detention-related deaths & no accountability for safety & medical violations, ICE does not deserve further government funding. As a taxpayer, I don’t want another dollar spent on ICE or construction of more prison camps!

Wednesday:
📜...lowers immigration bond amounts. Under the current administration, bond fees are 3-25 times higher than before, keeping people in detention and families separated longer.
Thursday:

So let's think about this. 🤔
We live in a country where 1 out of every 4 or 5 women are sexually abused.
We have a president who thinks women are property and he can grab them whenever he wants.
People elected him knowing this. 1/
But let's be clear, men are also abused.
Statistics tell us that many abusers were victims.
It is a perpetuating cycle that will not stop until we decide to stop it.
Do you want your son or daughter to be abused?
2/
If not end this now.
Decide you will not allow this cycle of abuse to continue.
Do not put someone who will lie in the Supreme Court.
We have a liar in the White House and look at what is happening to our country.
17 years ago today, l was on the phone with a friend and the line went dead. She worked in the WTC and fortunately she and her husband made it out. But other friends did not and so many people lost a spouse, partner, parent, & /or child in NY, DC and PA that day!

There were also many "life lessons" we had the opportunity to gleen in the years to come.
For example we learned that conspiracy theories can be appealing and thus we had to learn how to detect a conspiracy theory from truth.
We also learned that there are people who pretended to be victims of 9/11 to take advantage of the benefits offered to the true victims. To many of us it was inconcievable.
@kathycaprino wrote an article on how to tell when people are lying:
"As you may already know, one of the guiding principles of the AoC Checklist...(cont)

"...is to practice gratitude. There's solid research that connects the act of expressing thanks with increased feelings of well-being and connection with others. I regularly suggest thanking people--from grassroots leaders to elected officials...(cont)"

"...on both sides of the proverbial aisle--for doing courageous things.
Gratitude makes you feel more hopeful. It lets people know their efforts are seen and matter. And it also reminds us that there's more to democracy than "my side winning". In reality, democracy...(cont)"
