Sadiq Khan on #Marr talking about Trump baby balloon: "It wasn't my blimp. We have in our city a rich history of the right to process."

#Marr asked Sadiq whether Trump doesn't like him because he's Muslim, "That's a question for president Trump. You'd also have to ask your next guest [May] who is so close to him."

#Marr pushes Sadiq on whether Trump is racist. SK maintains it's "not for me to say" but mentions the RTing of Britain First and use of language like "infestation". Says "it's easy to see why people draw that conclusion."

#Marr: What would be the actual effects on London of hard Brexit?

SK says jobs lost, businesses moving away, says some have already moved 5% to 10% of their staff away.

Theresa May up now on #Marr.

Q: When did you start to write the common rulebook plan?

A: "For some time," but with lots of waffle on A50, Mansion House speech, blah blah. Repeats well-worn line that EU's 2 options so far are not acceptable.

#Marr's not giving up.

Q: When did David Davis know about the common rulebook?

A: We have been talking about this for some time.

#Marr: In doing all of this you cut out the man who was doing the Brexit negotiations and he had no chance but to resign.

May says govt needed a new approach that didn't end up with a "chaotic leaving" – implies DD agreed with this...

May: There will be millions of people watching this programme who feel very passionately about leaving the EU... but I have to be hard-headed and practical about this.

"This common rulebook protects those jobs and livelihoods"

May points out that manufacturers would follow the EU common rulebook anyway.

#Marr quotes the bit of the rulebook that says members can't negotiate bilateral trade deals.

May says, er, that it will be possible to do so without explaining how.

#Marr: It's not real sovereignty is it?

May: It is real sovereignty.

She says: "The common rulebook does allow us to sign trade deals around the world."

[Feel like this statement comes with loooads of small print]

May says EU law won't automatically come into UK law under her plans.

But doesn't deny #Marr's assertion that British courts will still have to take notice of what ECJ does and says.

#Marr: Why did you change your position on this?

May says most of it is from Mansion House speech. But in relation to trading goods, and the frictionless border things had to change.

Big fan of Marr's general European accent 👍🏻

May repeats the old favourite: "No deal is better than a bad deal."

[The closer we get to March 2019 the less threatening this really sounds]

#Marr: If there are 48 letters from MPs to signal a no confidence vote, will you stand [in the leadership election]?

May: Conspicuously doesn't say yes. "I am in this for the long term... this is a very complex issue."

#Marr: The whole country wants to know, what was President's advice to you on Brexit?

May: He told me to sue the EU.

May defends holding Trump's hand!

#Marr: It makes you look a little bit submissive.

May: Oh come on, Andrew...
