Something in the Butina indictment has been niggling at me. It's this portion of an email from U.S. Person 1 to Butina: Thoughts? #TrumpRussia#Butina
I'll add that when something niggles at me like this, it usually means I'm missing something, that there are unanswered questions or questions not asked, that there's something else beneath the surface.
Part of what this shows us is that the Russians are playing the long game (no surprise) and it's a very long game. It's far broader than current issues such as sanctions, Ukraine, and Syria. Seems to me like Trump may be a temporary tool in that long game. (Still more questions)
Is U.S. Person 1 an agent of Trump hammering out a deal with the Russians, or an agent of Russia spelling out how to manage Trump? (eg. Don't criticize him, don't oust him too soon, basically let him have his day in the sun)
And who is Trump's successor? Do they already know who it will be? Do they not know but expect to be able to choose? Are they speaking generically? For everyone's sake I hope Mueller uncovers all of the tentacles. It's obvious there are many.

(re BUTINA) The Russian official directing her activities in furtherance of the conspiracy is "a high-level official in the Russian government", previously a member of the legislature of the Russian Federation & was a top official at the Russian Central Bank.
"U.S. Person 1 is a US citizen and an American political operative. BUTINA established contact with U.S. Person 1 in Moscow in or around 2013"
U.S. Person 2 is a U.S. citizen. BUTINA told U.S. Person 2 that the Russian Official was "very much impressed by you" & that "the Russians will support the efforts from our side" - This is conspiracy. Mueller knows who these U.S. citizens are.
The purpose of the Canada Summer Jobs Program is to help youth gain job experience to help them (and ultimately the country) with their futures. 1/8 #cdnpoli
Did you catch that? It's for youth, not employers. Yes, it rewards the employer for helping the youth, but its purpose is not for the employer. 2/8
If the gov't looks ahead to what our country is going to need & they see we will need more people working in a particular field then they should encourage employers in that field to give youth opportunity for that experience. Right now that happens to be #STEM 3/8
I'm thinking that people like Obama and Trudeau are, in the minds of the far right, the equivalent of the "November Criminals" of 1918 including the false "stab in the back" and everyone who is not far right is deemed to be in the same category. 1/?
It would then seem reasonable to believe that anyone not vehemently against these November criminals are unpatriotic. Add to that society's growing realization that we are all equal and the concomitant fear of mediocre and weak men 2/
and suddenly this powerful and "righteous" masculine "patriotism" is desirable and virtuous in their minds. 3/
I want to talk about #MeToo ( #YesAllWomen ) & @JustinTrudeau 's response - and yes, there has been a response. I'm writing from the perspective of a woman who spent 30yrs working with survivors & offenders & who is also a #MeToo survivor. 1/?
More than a yr ago I saw that old story about JT and the reporter being circulated by JT haters. Along with that were calls for a nice conservative lady to come forward with allegations against him. There were even offers of money for doing so. 2/?
There were also requests from right wingers for a man, any man, to come forward with sexual abuse allegations or even just gay sex allegations against him. Everyone can plainly see that this is not about #MeToo but about weaponizing a good movement for bad ends. 3/?
