Once again @jrezaian in his latest @WashingtonPost piece proves he is only concerned about the interests of #Iran’s regime, and not the people.
“At the event, called 'Supporting Iranian Voices,' Mike Pompeo signaled a US commitment to support efforts to undermine Iran’s clerical regime.”
@jrezaian signals his concern, the mullahs' fate, not mentioning how they’ve brought suffering to the people of Iran & the region.
@jrezaian says he wanted to see “which Iranian voices would Pompeo be supporting?”
Yet nowhere in his piece does he mention how @SecPompeo specifically said to the Iranian people that the Trump administration hears you and stands with you.
“… others openly boycotted the event. They wanted to be as far as possible from what they saw as the opening arguments in this administration’s case for regime change.”
Again, @jrezaian signals his concern: #IranRegimeChange.
Interesting how @jrezaian fails to mention how Iranians are protesting the regime’s rule for 40 years.
Uprisings in 1999, 2009 & the Dec/Jan episode. #IranProtests are continuing to this day.
The regime shoots protests, jails & executes anyone seeking regime change.
@jrezaian claims to be in touch with “Iranian voices” inside the country and abroad.
I’m certain that’s either a lie or represents a filtered few.
Iranians inside are protesting the regime’s rule & Jason has obviously chosen to remain blind to that reality.
Abroad, the Iranian opposition just held a major convention in Paris, which Tehran’s operatives tried to bomb.
Sec. Pompeo has mentioned this many times, in his speech & tweets.
@jrezaian doesn’t mention this, because he’s solely concerned about the ruling mullahs’ interests.
By mentioning “stiff economic sanctions & the recently upheld travel bans,” again @jrezaian signals his concerns for the regime’s interests.
We saw Obama lift sanctions & #Iran use billions to wreak havoc across the region while over 50 million Iranians live in poverty.
Even the regime’s own outlets acknowledge how over 50 million are living in poverty.
Stiff sanctions are depriving #Iran’s regime of money to feed its domestic crackdown machine & foreign belligerence across the region.
The travel ban is preventing the mullahs from sneaking their operatives/spies into the US.
And @jrezaian is only worried about these issues.
@jrezaian trying to save face:

“I asked members of his staff about ways to support Iranian voices inside Iran, which could undermine the current regime’s power.”

Someone tell Jason to wake up. The people want this regime gone.
@jrezaian blows his cover of being an #Iran apologist again.
Read this excerpt:
@jrezaian encourages “bolstering the strength of civil society” and is concerned about the “administration strategy for weakening the regime.”
Again @jrezaian tries to divert attention away from #IranRegimeChange.
Read this excerpt:
Finishing his piece, @jrezaian again reveals his main concerns: “… the U.S. government’s unstated efforts to destabilize and remove the current regime…”
While the Trump administration has never officially stated #IranRegimeChange as their policy, @jrezaian sees the future of the mullahs’ regime in danger and is begging for efforts to prevent this.

As always, I leave you to come to your own conclusion.

Here’s mine if you’re interested.
@jrezaian is a complete #Iran regime apologist. He was a Tehran-based @WashingtonPost reporter.
No West-media “reporter” or “journalist” can operate freely in Iran without the regime’s approval.
They must adhere to a framework defined by the regime’s #IRGC & Intel Ministry.
@jrezaian now hides behind the cover of being arrested by the regime & jailed in Tehran’s Evin Prison.
However, I believe his release being linked to #Obama’s highly flawed & disastrous #IranDeal (with pallets of cash flown to Tehran as ransom money) is very suspicious.
I believe the #IRGC arrested @jrezaian, jailed him, released him after receiving billions from #Obama, having him return to the US as a “hero.

Now he has the cover of being jailed by #Iran’s regime and yet is concerned about the mullahs’ interests.

Again, the conclusion is yours to make.

For me, #Iran apologists such as @jrezaian - being a periscope into the regime - becoming utterly concerned about the mullahs’ future is actually a good sign.

And this means #Winning.

U.S. President Donald Trump has accepted the resignation of Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador.

My gut tells me an even bigger story will develop.

Rest assured #Iran's regime is terrified about who Trump/Pompeo will appoint as their new envoy.
Amb. Nikki Haley spoke six months ago with President Donald Trump about the subject of resigning.
Will be staying at this post until the end of the year.
Amb. Nikki Haley saying she will be campaigning for President Trump in 2020.

Add this to the long list linking #Iran's regime with international terrorism.

This time, the al Qaeda-affiliated al Shabaab militant group of Somalia.

More reason why a firm policy is needed against Tehran.
"Criminal networks are using Iran as a transit point for illicit Somali charcoal exports that earn Islamist militants al Shabaab millions of dollars annually in tax, U.N. sanctions monitors said in a report seen by Reuters."
"... domestic revenue generation by al Qaeda-affiliated al Shabaab 'is more geographically diversified and systematic' than that of Somalia’s federal government."

Reports indicate atmosphere in #Iran's parliament (the Majlis) is very tense as members review the anti-money laundering Financial Action Task Force (FATF) signing bill.
Sources say "hardliners" are voicing threats about the signing of this bill.

"Regarding the FATF, should we commit suicide today by signing this bill because we're going to die in the future?" says Behrouz Nemati, a member of #Iran's Majlis (parliament).

Read more about Iran & the FATF here:
"Hardliners in Iran’s parliament have opposed passing legislation toward compliance with FATF standards, arguing it could hamper Iranian financial support for allies such as Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which the US has classified as a terrorist organization."

Short Thread:

#Iran's #FakeNews machine at work:

"It did not say where Zahedifar was arrested. In a video carried by state broadcaster IRIB, a blindfolded man who identified himself as Zahedifar denied he had fled Iran."
Here's the video.

What a coincidence (!), all of this developing just "a week after Tehran sentenced three people to death in a drive against economic crimes."
