THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4328: Mike Pompeo Testifies to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee - #Nonverbal & #EmotionalIntelligence
#MikePompeo #BobCorker #DonaldTrump #VladimirPutin #HelsinkiSummit #TrumpPutinSummit #Microexpression #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert
1/ On Wednesday, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee regarding President Trump's Summit with Vladimir Putin last week in Helsinki.
2/ What follows is a partial nonverbal analysis highlighting a few key moments with Senator Bob Corker.
3/ SENATOR BOB CORKER (continuing at 23:10): "So, why does he do those things? I mean, is there some strategy behind creating doubt in US senators' minds on both sides of the aisle? Doubt in the American people - as to what his motivations are - ..."
4/ "...when in fact we have tremendous faith in you? I think you're a patriot. Tremendous faith in Mattis. But it's the President's actions that create tremendous distrust in our nation. Among our allies, it's palpable..."
5/ "...We meet and talk with them. Is there a strategy to this - or is it - what, what is it that causes the President to purposely - purposely create distrust in these institutions and what we're doing?"
6/ SECRETARY POMPEO: "Senator I just, I disagree with most of what you just said there. Ahum, you somehow disconnect the administration's activities from the president's actions. They're, they're, they're one in the same..."
7/ "...Thee - every sanction that was put in place was signed off by the President of the United States, every spy that was removed was directed by the president."
8/ As Senator Corker finishes his question, and as he begins his answer (during 23:51 - 23:54), Secretary Pompeo scratches the posterior aspect of his right ear.
9/ This ear scratching nonverbal dynamic, in the context of a simultaneous verbal denial - particularly during an exchange when the ramifications are so very significant - is highly indicative of deception.
10/ A bit further on, Corker continues...

BOB CORKER (at 25:09): "I, I noticed that you - are not responding to what I'm saying ..."

MIKE POMPEO: "I think, I think I responded to everything that you had said Senator ..."
11/ BOB CORKER [overtalking]: "Yeah .... Why I ...... Nah, no you didn't. And the fact is - that you, you just didn't okay..."

MIKE POMPEO [overtalking]: [inaudible] ".... We simply disagree Senator ..."
12/ BOB CORKER [overtalking]: "No, we don't disagree that - Hell, let's run the transcript again if ya wanna talk about it ..."

MIKE POMPEO: [overtalking] "Alright .... We'll - we'll let the world decide Ω ..."
13/ During 28:27 (notated by the Ω symbol), just after Secretary Pompeo says, "We'll - we'll let the world decide", he displays a classic contempt expression. More specifically, this emotion leakage is in the form of a Microexpression - and therefore is very short-lived.
14/ In colloquial terms, it resembles a split-second snarl on Pompeo's left mid-face.
15/ The image above shows his expression in this moment - although it's impossible to fully capture the dynamic nature of a microexpression in a photograph. Please watch the video at regular speed, at 1/2 and 1/4 speeds - and again at regular speed.
16/ SUMMARY: Secretary Pompeo's nonverbal behavior displayed in this video, indicates that, with very high probability, he was lying - and that he does indeed think that President Trump creates "doubt in US senators' minds on both sides of the aisle" and ...

continued
17/ ... that "the President's actions ... create tremendous distrust in our nation" and "Among our allies" - and that Pompeo believes, the President "purposely create(s) distrust".

Moreover, Mike Pompeo's nonverbal behavior also shows he feels contempt for Bob Corker.

END
13 addendum/ When a person feels contempt - they believe the other person (or group) is below them - fundamentally inferior. This is their belief. This is contempt. Pompeo believes Corker is beneath him.

1/ THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4450: Trump delivers remarks in Oshkosh, WI — a Red Flag Body Language expression — Nonverbal and Emotional Intelligence #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #EmotionalIntelligence #DonaldTrump #Sociopath #Psychopath
2/ Donald Trump delivered a campaign speech earlier today in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He repeatedly made the expression show in this accompanying still image. Note his central forehead is contracted and elevated while simultaneously displaying a (feigned) mouth smile.
3/ We all make an expression similar to this one *once-in-a-while* when we're feeling:

• Smug Incredulity
• Arrogance
• Contempt

(although all of these thought-emotions have other facial expressions with which they're associated)

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4350: Ashley Kavanaugh during Brett Kavanaugh's Swearing-in Ceremonies for the Supreme Court - #Nonverbal #EmotionalIntelligence #AshleyKavanaugh #BrettKavanuagh #SwearingIn #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #LowConfidence #Beta #GetMeOutOfHere
1/ Yesterday, after the closest Senate vote in 137 years, Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. Ashley Kavanaugh's body language during her husband's swearing-in ceremony is worthy of scrutiny.
2/ Note in the above image, as retired Justice Anthony Kennedy administers the Judicial Oath to Brett Kavanaugh, Ashley Kavanaugh is standing with her left leg crossed in front of her right leg. This nonverbal display indicates a lowered confidence level & a beta emotional tone.

1/ There are many nonverbal signs indicating relative levels of confidence. During last week's hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford exhibited contrasting examples of one such signal.
2/ When a person raises their right hand to be sworn-in before testifying, if their fingers and/or thumb are spread apart - it signals low levels of confidence.

1/ The following is my second analysis of a portion of Brett Kavanaugh's testimony during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on 27 September 2018.
2/ JOHN KENNEDY (beginning at 3:45:39): "I’m — I’m sorry, judge, for what you and your family have been through. And I’m sorry - for what Dr. Ford and her family have been through. It could have been avoided [long pause] Do you believe in God?"

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4347: Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings - Part I • #Nonverbal #Emotional #Intelligence #KavanaughHearings #ChristineBlaseyFord #BrettKavanaugh #BodyLanguageExpert #BodyLanguage
1/ In case you hadn't heard, on Wednesday 27 September 2018, both Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
2/ This hearing could supply a year's worth of nonverbal teaching examples and it would close to impossible to analyze the entire event in one session. Thus, what follows is the first of several analyses of this historic exchange.

1/ THREAD: Trump's Press Conference • Pupil Alert • Why are Trump's Pupils So Large?

During President Trump's Press Conference today, his pupils were quite dilated - to as much as 7.0 mm.

Here are his pupils imaged at the 31:49 mark in this video:
2/ On other days in similar light conditions, they are within normal limits (e.g., 3.0 mm).

The intermittent and yet extreme nature of Trump's pupillary dilation is profound. From a medical standpoint, this is NOT normal.
3/ This intermittent pattern is NOT due to trauma, complications from surgery, or disease.
