Putting out a bullshit statistic like "guns in the home make you more likely to be shot and killed" is not going to help you win the "we need more gun control" argument.
There are 100 million gun owners in this country, compare that to 33 thousand gun deaths, the numbers don't
add up. You can't win yourself #guncontrol by tricking people with made up stats when they can do basic math. A firearm and firearm training is more helpful to a person survival if ever face with a violent attacker. Simply just owning won't protect you, that's just the truth.
#guncontrol aims to disarm people through fear mongering and straight up manipulation. Telling someone they are likely to be killed or shot because the have a gun in the home, is a form of using fear to push for gun control.
If you don't want to own a firearm for any reason, that's okay. Owning one is not for everyone and I recognize that. Self defense is ugly and it's a horrible thing to have live with if you have take a life because of it. It can give you some severe PTSD.
However it's better to have to live with that for some people than to not be living at all. People who choose to own, carry and train regularly with a firearm have made the decision to take all possible outcomes.
At the end of the day, we should be honest about gun ownership in this country. Truth is, we aren't less safe with guns in the house if we practice the rules of gun safety. People who are uneducated of firearms or have a negative view them, will push a bais stat untrue.
We need to as gun owners need to continue to educate the masses of truth about firearms ownership in this country. Push for current gun laws to be enforce and not give the government too much power over our lives. Educate new gun owners about gun safety.
We will stand tall. We will stay United. We shall fight until our last breath.
The officer out in Dallas Texas who shot a man inside of is own apartment made a tragic mistake. I don't think she set out to kill this man. In other words, I don't think she murdered him. However she should face the consequences of her actions.
Oh, one more thing. Stop making this into a race and cop issue. I believe if this was a black woman and she wasn't a cop, she would have reacted the same way. This woman made a mistake that part is clear, so she should have her day in court to answer for her actions.
I feel bad for the gentleman that was killed. Everyone should feel safe inside their own home. Your home is your castle. I wish didn't happened. 1 person life has been extinguished, while the other person involved has to live with the guilt of extinguishing that life.
Motivated by a different set of circumstances. I don't need any one to be my voice because my actions speak louder than words. Fighting for everything you believe in may cause you to lose fake friends and well wishers. Freedom is a game not meant for the weak, only the strongest
I survived 3 gun shots from a criminal, crippling poverty, a poor education system, a broken family structure and poor health. I over came it all with perseverance, hard work, determination and True Grit. I am the American success story that hasn't been written.
I come from the school of hard knocks, where the lesson was to get knock down "9 times and get up 10" The hand outs were to a minimal. The only way to survive was to do things your way and to Ignore all doubters and the ignorance of your situation.
