(2) It's very simple to understand WHY California's #wildfires have worsened in the last 10 years or so.
Natural & plantation forests have been badly mismanaged. (Something we can change.)
Naturally occurring climate change is also a factor. (Something we can't change,)
(3) Democrats want you to ignore the factors we CAN change, such as the mismanagement of forests, & to focus on the factor we CAN'T change: The sun driving the cycle of warming & cooling that's gone on since the planet formed.
(4) The reason Dems focus on (naturally occurring) climate change is to fool you into backing policies that hamper America's economy. This helps China, which has been funding the Dems since the dirty deals done by Bill Clinton in the mid 1990s. It also helps global socialism.
(5) Global socialism (or, globalism) helps Iran, the Palestinians, China, Russia, Germany, France, and in particular, left wing political parties everywhere.
Globalism is allied with socialism/communism AND radical Islamic extremism.
(6) That's the big picture. The small picture is that rn, 28,000 firefighters and soldiers are trying to battle the biggest wildfires complex in California's history.
About 9 people have already died, incl firecrew. Wildfires like this always kill.
I want to save lives.
(7) If landowners had been able to manage forests according to #science & rational evidence-based approaches generally, the current wildfires would have been greatly reduced in size and impact.
Wildfires can start without humans, eg by lightning strikes, sunlight refraction.
(8) Arson starts some of the fires, & we can never prevent every instance of arson.
The biggest issue with wildfires is the amount of available tree & brush fuel once the weather gets dry, hot & windy each year.
Fuel can be removed. It's economically viable to do so.
(9) Aside from the loss of life, the economic impact of extreme-sized wildfires affects the whole state & indeed the whole country. Insurance premiums skyrocket. Cost, rebuild delays & uncertainty crush the economy.
Losses are compounded when floods hit fire-damaged land.
(10) So it is extremely cost effective for landowners and taxpayers to fund the reduction of fuel available for wildfires. Studies will have been done, showing the high rate of return on investment.
I can never convince Dems to change their policy on fuel reduction, though.
(11) IMO the Democrats are too far gone when it comes to accepting that climate change is naturally occurring and that forests must be better managed to reduce fuel for wildfires.
They must be voted out of office so that #science can guide forest management again.
(12) When I hear of deaths caused by earthquakes I am extremely saddened & I spend time analyzing what can be changed to save lives in the future.
When I hear of deaths caused by CA wildfires I am just as saddened. But (for now) I stop there and...
(13) I have learned not to spend a lot of time following these events in detail because it provokes such righteous anger in me. Unlike the Left, I choose to manage my emotions & take care of my mental health so I can remain functional & contribute to my community.
(14) I've written many times about how to mitigate the loss of life & property from CA's wildfires.
Nothing will change until Democrats have been removed from power in CA.
More people will die preventable deaths. Accepting that is hard to do. It makes me angry.
(15) That's why I was extremely pleased to see President Trump tweet about the issue 3 times so far this week, with supportive tweets from Secretary Zinke, Rep Devin Nunes, and many others who have been saying the same as me, for many years now.
Democrats responded in two ways.
(16) Democrats accused Republicans of raising the issue in order to facilitate favorable business outcomes for affected corporations. They also claimed that climate change is affected by fossil fuel use.
Both claims are unsupportable by evidence, but that's nothing new is it?
(17) You don't even need to address the Democrat talking points, it's possible to simply explain the what, why & how of forest mismanagement & water supply, which shows any rational person what is really going on.
Rational people are willing to listen. TDS sufferers aren't.
(18) So, thank you President Trump (I say that every day anyway) for giving a Presidential signal boost to #science & what we already know about wildfire mitigation. Those willing to be rational will learn from it.
(2) Brett M. Kavanaugh will soon be the 102nd Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the USA. He has earned this highest honor throughout his life, inspired by his trailblazing mother, Judge Martha Kavanaugh.
His title for these few hours is Associate Justice Designate.
(3) This statement from the Supreme Court explains the two ceremonies:
(2) This WaPo reporter is incorrect about the vote being "scheduled for" Saturday. The earliest time a vote COULD be held is Saturday pm. There's no reason not to hold it on Sun/Mon IF we need Daines. I think we won't. Read my 5 tweets about him here:
(1) A directory of my Kavanaugh threads since July 9, 2018.
I never planned more than a couple of threads about him this year but, I shoulda known the Dems would try to destroy whoever was the nominee this time.
(2) Like Democrats, I'd already decided how I felt about him before his nomination was announced. I live-tweeted the announcement, which was a great event in itself.
(3) I followed Kavanaugh's progress over the summer and on September 22nd, I finally wrote a thread about the preparations for the all-important hearing on September 27th. It covers the hearing before the next thread started the day after.
(2) Mitch laughing to himself about how absurd it is that he has to push his way through the crowd of reporters on 9/25/18.
(3) Sen Grassley is 85 years old. (Democrats have senators around that age, too.)
Today he had to hold onto a Capitol Police officer to reduce the risk of a reporter knocking him over. This has to stop. Senators must return to being able to walk around freely at work.
(2) First Lady Melania Trump is a natural in this important role.
She's one of those women whose face lights up whenever she is around children. God Bless our great First Lady.

(3) FLOTUS left Joint Base Andrews in her trademark high heels and arrived in Ghana wearing practical flats. She still looks sensational, whatever she happens to wear!
(2) Cloture in the Senate is a procedural step that you can learn more about at the link below. The senate.gov website is the best resource for learning about Senate procedure and a lot more. Same for house.gov.
(3) Watching live Senate floor proceedings is boring as hell, as they pass bills for naming Post Offices, & so on. But every now & then, they confirm a SCOTUS judge. And this time, they will affirm our great #BillOfRights#DueProcess & the hard-won #RuleOfLaw. Seriously. 🇺🇸🦅
