Found that in #TheResistance
We ALL Resist different
At times disagree
THREAD
Before 2016, I wasn't active on Twitter.
Like many of us, alarmed by what I was witnessing little by little I got more involved.
Learned about politics, Congress, Senate, Laws.
If you asked me 4 yrs ago I wouldn't be able to tell ya who represents each state.
I know by heart now.
Once tRump took over on Jan 20, 2017 I got more involved & Summer of last year I met many amazing Resistance brothers & sisters who are family to me til this day.
I created support rooms & joined candidate rooms to help amplify their campaign.
I run across amazing people daily.
I've learned a lot from activists, political strategists, campaign managers, candidates, volunteers & everyday people turn activists who inspire me & amaze me constantly
Volunteerism btw has the most rewarding learning lessons, your payment isn't money, is knowledge & experience.
Everyone resists differently.
We may've band together regardless of ideology but we still hold our views & ideas about who best represents us in D.C.
So naturally, disagreements will arise.
From disagreements, misunderstandings will happen, not seeing eye to eye can push a wedge.
I personally believe in compromise.
Agree to disagree, work on what's at hand now.
I'm a peace maker.
Of course I wish everyone in #TheResistance held hands, sang campy songs, ate s'mores & had a swell ole time always.
But we humans are complex.
Everyone must have their 2 cents.
Mid terms are around the corner.
Our priority should be:
▪Register everyone & their mom
▪Check your voting registration
▪Find out who is running in your district
▪What measures are on the ballot
▪Volunteer
▪Canvass
▪Phone/Text bank
▪Make a plan to vote
▪VOTE
Remain laser focused on canvassing, registering folks to vote, GOTV, voting.
Every vote counts.
Don't get sidetracked by detractors & petty arguments.
Russia propaganda seeds discord withing our movement to keep us busy fighting, divided, take our time away from important issues.
Don't let yourselves be played by Putin.
We as humans will always disagree on many different issues.
For now let's agree to disagree.
Let's put our differences aside, to defeat 45.
Let's elect candidates that KNOW the law, abide by it & uphold the constitution.
NO KOMPROMATS!
Less than 3 months away.
The future of our nation is in our hands.
VOTE=Women Rights
VOTE=Immigrant Reform
VOTE=LGBTQ Rights
VOTE=Vets Programs
VOTE=Education
VOTE=Disabilities Benefits
VOTE=Healthcare
VOTE=Accountability
VOTE=Democracy
These are just my thoughts.
I'm not telling anyone what to do.
I don't do that, not about to start.
I am simply suggesting we try our best to get along for the sake of our freedom & our democracy.
We get attacked by tRump & his gaslighting regime daily, let's uplift each other.

On Nov 8, 2016, I was shocked, in disbelief, I cried all night, I cried for weeks on/off that America is sexist.
It made my anxiety escalate, made me depressed & insomniac.
What cheered me up was lookin forward to Nov 6, 2018.
Today sucks but we're 30 days closer to Nov 6.
VOTE!
What broke my heart 11/08/16 that America said, like today: we know dude sexually assaults women, we don't care about what happened to you.
Nov 8, 2016 & Today October 6, 2018 was an assault to #MeToo survivors.
As a survivor & mother of a little girl is a double punch to my gut.
On Nov 8, 2016, I was so happy thinking the nightmare hellish circle that took over America would finally be over.
Our kids went to vote with us, I told my baby girl Ruby who was almost 3 at the time a woman would be president, I told her every little girl can be president now.
Sexual assault & harassment linked to long-term health problems for women:
High blood pressure
Depression
Insomnia
Anxiety
A few possible long-term health consequences face mid-life women who experienced sexual assault & harassment, according to a study. cnn.it/2Rkhqap
Not everyone is able, willing to identify what happened to them, but that doesn't prevent the body from having opinions about it & expressing them.
Women who reported prior sexual assault were 3 times more likely to experience depression.
Twice as likely to have elevated anxiety than women without a history of sexual trauma.
Those who experienced either sexual assault or harassment were twice as likely to have sleep problems, including insomnia, the study found.
Aggravated Sexual/Abuse by Force/Threat of Force:

Attempts to by using force against that person by threatening, placing that person in fear that person will be subjected to death, serious bodily injury, kidnap
Abusive Sexual Contact:

Sexual Abuse of a Minor/Ward:
Knowingly engaging in a sexual act with a person between the ages of 12 & 15 years.
Aggravated sexual abuse with children is a serious form called statutory rape, which the perpetrator shall be fined, imprisoned for any term of years, life or both.
The audacity of the "president"of the United States asking why Dr Christine Blasey Ford didn't contact FBI 35 yrs ago.
First of all it was not a federal crime for her to contact FBI.
Second of all she was 15.
I was groped at 7 yrs old, 30 yrs later still haven't told my parents.
A 12 yr old groped me under my skirt.
I froze.
Was paralyzed
Confused.
Scared.
My mom feet ahead of me, unaware of what was done to me at the school entrance, early in the morning.
I remember every detail of that day at 37 yrs old.
I thought I'd get in trouble.
It was traumatic.
When you get sexually assaulted no matter what age or how many years have gone by, you heal from it, you learn how to cope with the trauma & pain but the scars live with you til your last breath.
I don't let it define me.
My #MeToo scars are a reminder of my strength & resilience
