So, I have a #Gemini rising buddy who knows me well, and knows what intrigues me astrologically, especially if a politically "mundane" astrological event also intrigues them. They've found one, since mundane astrology mostly bores me to tears. So, thanks & kudos to them.
Trump did something really interesting yesterday. He published an Enemies list, pretty much 47 years and a day before Richard M. Nixon did on August 16, 1971. Yes, that's a #JupiterReturn. So, that's the 1st interesting thing. Here are two charts for the two Enemy lists.
Nixon's enemy list publishing date is in the center and Trump's is the outer wheel. I used Regiomontanus for this chart cuz I wanted to see exact house cusps.
The next interesting parallel is that Mercury is retrograde in both charts. Also, to note, Mars is also retrograde in Aquarius, which is an even rarer event. And Mars had also spent the 1971 close to a node like this year's Mars has.
It's worth noting here that both enemies list were composed by Presidents who felt challenged by their dissidents. Only Trump was also more general in his in saying the Media itself were an opposition/dissident party. That's bizarre.
Mars had been conjoined the N. Node in Aquarius in 1971. Mars has spent this summer conjoined to the S. Node in Aquarius. There was a lunar eclipse on 8/6/1971 at 13º Aquarius. We had a solar eclipse at 18º Leo on 8/11/18. Close enough w/in 5º.
For those into node details, the current (transiting) Jupiter is at the South bending of the 1971 chart. That means there's a repeated excess (Jupiter) here. Trump somehow may have gone too far here & will likely experience consequences for it
Nixon's enemy list chart had a more tempered Mars, meaning he was not out of bounds and was peregrine. But 2018's Mars is out of bounds AND exalted by dignity. He's overconfident & cocky. Again, a penchant toward excess.
That's not good since Mars won't be in Capricorn much longer beyond August and heading back into Aquarius to be peregrine again, like 1971. Nixon didn't experience much IMMEDIATE fallout from that list. But Trump will and has.
Perhaps not enough to topple his presidency yet. But Nixon's enemy list had a stronger (yet retrograde) Mercury, so he had protection until the list became public in 1973 during Senate Watergate hearings. Peep who's on THAT list: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixon's_E…
Trump's is way shadier and more public. The astrology bears this out. It's the Jupiter square at the N. bending of the 2018 chart and S. bending of the 1971 chart that gives me pause, esp. w/ Jupiter at its return between both charts.
Jupiter in Scorpio seems to act as an avenging angel for injustices that have surfaced from when Jupiter was analyzing in Virgo and then checking his ledger for corrections in Libra. Jupiter in Sag tries to get beyond the vengeance. But then Jupiter in Capricorn exacts a toll
For instance, it was while Jupiter was in Capricorn that the Watergate Investigation gained legs. And when Jupiter was in Aquarius, 90º from Jupiter in Scorpio (and connected to the 1971 eclipse points in Aquarius-Leo) that all of this comes to a head.
So, by or at 2020, we'll have reason to remember this moment. I'm sure there will be other moments as memorable (or seemingly so). But I pay attention more to echoes in history than one-off moments. This is definitely an echo and a bad omen for Trump.
Looking at my #Gucci, it's about that time. It's #Cancer time. (Older heads will know, I likely don't literally have a Gucci. But a stroll down hip-hop memory lane is apt for this sign, no?)
And this is special for me since there might be folks of a particular sign, either by Sun, moon or rising, who are your Ride-or-die folks. Well, #Cancers are mine. I don't have to go looking for them or that. It just happens. Consistently. So, they're dear people for me.
Once consciousness has explored dimensions of risk & curiosity in #Gemini, it seeks out safety, responsibility, containment & renewal in #Cancer
On June 14, 6-7:30 pm EDT, I'll be hosting a webinar: "Discovering your part in your generation’s mission with Uranus." Uranus has gone into Taurus.
It’s now time for those born with Uranus in Sagittarius (roughly born between February 1981-December 1988) to step forward with their mission. This doesn’t mean other generations are off the hook, though. During this 90-minute webinar, I will clarify:
• How the 7-year transit of Uranus through a sign clarifies each generation’s mission
• When that generation will likely act on its mission
• Ways to discover how this mission will likely manifest in your personal chart.
Let's talk about tonight's #Scorpio full moon. This year only one or two countries will celebrate this moon as Wesak, the day assigned to the Buddha's birthday. It will be next month's full moon in more countries, many who follow the sidereal zodiac.
Last night, I had a celebration, of sorts, attending a Sufi dhikr at a friend's house, led by a Sheikh schooled in the Sudan and other places where the tasawwuf is taught. It was magical and worth the trek back to Bed-Stuy, where I lived until last year.
The Sheikh made clear that this work was about the purification of the heart. I don't think he's into astrology. But I couldn't help but marvel at the timing of the event. That's what the #Scorpio full moon is about too.
As we move from time of the Ram (Aries) to the Bull, there's a shift from "Being" and an interest in fiery identity to embodying, holding, and having.
We could say that Light takes shape or form.
As the light of Aries crystalizes into shape & material expression, we find those changes in Taurus like greater groundedness, build-up of reserves of energy, more purpose in movement & a smoothness of coordination.
So, this convo about qualifications of this curator position for African art at the Brooklyn Museum has gotten me thinking about #SaturnInCapricorn. I would love to know if Brooklyn Museum purposely sought out qualified candidates of color, especially of African descent.
But I also can believe, per even the little I know about the Art AND Archeology field, since both new curators have degrees in that field, that there aren't many sisters & brothers in that field. We are not plentiful in all areas of academia & cultural institutions.
Yes, some of that is systemic racism and based on the root causes of systemic racism. That I've never questioned. But there's another issue here, too. Some folks also don't play the long game, either. That's #SaturnInCapricorn.
