The word Sankranti denotes a transit period and relates to the movement of Sun.
There are 12 Sankramanas in a Hindu Calendar year.
Sankramana is a compound word & the 2nd part of this word ‘kramana’ denotes coverage or movement.
The Kanya Sankranti, which is observed yesterday day, Sept 17, Monday, refers to the movement of Sun from Leo or Sihma Rashi, to Virgo or Kanya Rashi.
In general, all Sankrantis are very auspicious to pay oblations or perform austerities.
For Kanya Sankranti sixteen Ghatis after the Sankranti moment are considered Shubh or auspicious & the time window from Sankranti to sixteen Ghati after Sankranti is taken for all Dan-Punya activities.

As you can see the flood hit areas in Kerala, they are all rich, almost all. Only 10% may be poor.
They don't need any help in cash or kind.
Please stop sending food or other things.
Security forces are doing the needful.
All they need is labour force, once the water recedes.
Kerala has no labours, though they pay high wages.
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, masons, domestic helpers are needed urgently by Keralites.
Commies & Kerala Govt are begging for funds for their own luxuries.
Most of the development in Kerala is done by common people.
Even the International airports are the contribution of common citizens in Kerala.

Cancer causing toxic chemical, Formalin is used to preserve dead bodies in mortuaries.
Fish preserved with formalin will be stiff, hard scales, no fishy smell and no flies around
If the fish is preserved with formalin, it gives out a very pungent smell.

It will not have any flies sitting on it as flies do not wander near the formalin-preserved fishes.
The only way to do away with the formalin on fishes is to wash it in running tap water for 10-12 minutes. Merely soaking it in water will not be sufficient.
