I want to be clear, opposition to the #sealhunt is #WhiteSupremacist and #racist in nature. It is absolutely clear to me that, at best, organizations like @peta ignore their impact on #Inuit. At worst, they're party to an intended programme of starvation.

In the entire course of her documentary, @Alethea_Aggiuq tried meeting with #vegan and #animalrights activists to discuss their impact on #indigenous communities. Every single attempt at communication was met with silence or avoidance.

In one situation, @Alethea_Aggiuq organized a counter protest at an anti-#sealhunt protest. The #animalrights activists chose to cancel their protest rather than meet with real #Inuit who depend on subsistence hunting. The reason is obvious: they have no moral high ground.

In another example, @Alethea_Aggiuq spoke to a former activist who was FIRED from her job at @IFAWcanada when she advocated for #indigenous #humanrights.

An interesting point #AngryInuk makes is that #arctic resource extraction is more inhumane to animals than subsistence hunting. Oil exploration has a cataclysmic effect on whales, seals, and other arctic sea life.

Why would the #EuropeanUnion ban the #arctic #sealhunt but not #arctic #oil extraction when arctic oil extraction is MORE harmful than the seal hunt? The only answer I have is "good old fashioned" #WhiteSupremacy and #racism.

The only argument against banning the #sealhunt is "I find your #indigenous way of life more repugnant than my #European practice of eating beef and wearing leather jackets". That, my friends, is #WhiteSupremacy in practice.

Now why hasn't there been a successful #EuropeanUnion ban on the #factoryfarm slaughter of cows like there is of seals? The answer is simple: cows have a greater impact on the European way of life than seals do. Once again, this is #WhiteSupremacy in action.

In a consistent #vegan world view, the slaughter of cows should at least be equal to the slaughter of seals. So why does the #sealhunt earn more vitriol than cow farms?

I used to think that most organizations that decried the seal hunt had good intentions. But having now watched #AngryInuk, this is not true. @action4ifaw and @peta really do mean harm to #Inuit communities.

By the way, if there's anything I've learned from @Alethea_Aggiuq's documentary it's that @action4ifaw and @peta will ignore this tweet, ignore similar tweets, ignore the entirety of #Inuit existence -- only in this way they can claim moral high ground.

If your entire moral argument wrests on the denial of #indigenous #humanrights -- actually, the denial of existence -- you might have a problem with your moral argument. #AngryInuk #sealhunt #racism #vegan
