Yesterday, standing in front of uniformed officers who clapped at him like trained seals, Donald Trump waved a print-out to the press that he pathetically claimed touted his many accomplishments as president.

Let’s take a moment to recall his ACTUAL accomplishments.

[THREAD]
1/ Despite Trump’s expert tossing of paper towels, Hurricane Maria claimed more American lives in Puerto Rico than did the attacks of 9/11. Trump continues to laud his handling of the disaster, because paper towels.
2/ Trump has assembled far and away the most corrupt Cabinet in the history of the presidency. He surrounds himself with greedy grifters and con-men. It’s Teapot Dome on steroids.
3/ Michael Cohen, a Russian mob associate who was for many years Trump’s personal attorney and “fixer,” named the president as a co-conspirator in a crime involving hush money payments to women with whom he, Trump, had extramarital affairs. Cohen pleaded guilty to 8 counts.
4/ Paul Manafort, the chair of the Trump campaign from May-August 2016, a period which comprises peak Treason Season, was found guilty on eight counts, despite a stubborn MAGA juror. Another trial is pending. He will die in prison.
5/ Despite ample warnings from Obama, acting AG Sally Yates, and Congress, Trump hired Mike Flynn and gave him access to eyes-only secrets as NATSEC advisor. Flynn left in disgrace and then pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
6/ In Helsinki, Trump bowed before Putin like the lesser king of some sad rump state paying obeisance to the Byzantine emperor. He continues to defend the dictator and do his bidding.
7/ Trump allowed Kim Jong Un of North Korea to use him for PR purposes, despite literally the entire diplomatic corps of the US and our allies telling him not to fall for it. This morning Trump proudly tweeted Kim's blurb:
8/ Trump has turned ICE into a mini-Gestapo. His policy is to separate refugee children from their parents, because he thinks this is a deterrent. (It is, but so would be cooking the children and spreading them like pate on crackers. Doesn't mean we should do it).
9/ Trump offered presidential pardons to convicted felons who were not worthy of mercy: Sheriff Joe, for one, and fraudster Dinesh D’Souza for another. By doing so, he has sullied the office.
10/ His hatred of Obamacare is exceeded only by his misunderstanding of how it works. Trump believes health insurance and life insurance are the same thing. His systematic dismantling of Obamacare will absolutely lead to more bankruptcies and deaths.
11/ Trump rails against his AG, Jeff Sessions—himself a key figure in Trump/Russia, and a hateful bigot besides—for not protecting him from the Mueller investigation. In short, he wants the AG to not prosecute him for his crimes.
12/ When coloring the flag with schoolkids, Trump made our flag look like Russia’s.
13/ Trump is a rapist and sexual predator. Yes, I know Bill Clinton did unseemly things, as did JFK and others. That does not somehow excuse Trump's odious behavior.
14/ Trump openly backs pedophiles in elections, enjoys the support of pedophile-apologists like @Jim_Jordan, and is buddies with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. (I’ll hold off adding on Alan Dershowitz, his most eager legal surrogate, to this list).
15/ Trump has pretty clearly blackmailed key members of Congress, including @LindseyGrahamSC. #WhoOwnsLindsey?
16/ Trump has nominated a SCOTUS justice who has a shady legal background (torture cough cough) and who is also likely in hock to the Russian mob. #WhoOwnsKavanaugh? Trump did this b/c he thinks Kavanaugh will rule in his favor re: presidential indictments.
17/ Trump misled the American people about his health. In reality, he had goons intimidate his doctor into releasing a fictitious medical report—all while he attacked HRC’s alleged health problems.
18/ He continues to hold Mussolini-style rallies, which sitting presidents have never done, because Trump has to feed his pathetic ego. People are PAID to attend these things.
19/ Trump is a racist. He enjoys the support of white supremacists. Hate crimes are up since he took office. "Good people on both sides."
20/ Trump attacks the press, which is an attack on the First Amendment. This is extremely dangerous to our free society.
21/ Trump employed, and still defends, men who are violent towards women. Which makes sense because he is one of their kind.
22/ Trump mocks the disabled. Does anyone NOT believe he called Jeff Sessions “retarded,” as Woodward claims?
23/ Trump thumbs his nose at the Emoluments Clause, profiting bigly from the presidency. He is still involved in Trump Org despite promising to divest. Junior calls the presidency his “day job.”
I’m sure there’s more impressive achievements I’ve neglected, or that have slipped my mind, but how on earth can any sentient being still support this man? Failed president, failed human being.

Let’s talk about the House of Kavanaugh—specifically, the hefty mortgage on said house.

[THREAD]
1/ In 2006, Brett & Ashley Kavanaugh bought a house for $1.22m. They put $245k down, a number that does not appear on his financial disclosures of 2005, which show net worth of $91k.
2/ The mortgage payments ($4600/mo.) alone were more than what Brett Kavanaugh took home in 2006 after taxes. His wife did not add enough to the mix to make up the difference.

In light of the epic (in every sense of the word) NYT story on Trump's tax fraud, let's have a quick review of all the legal troubles these traitors are now in:

[THREAD]
1/ PAUL MANAFORT, Trump’s campaign chair (May-Aug 2016): found guilty on eight counts, pleaded guilty on a bunch more as part of a plea deal in which he must cooperate with Mueller. Met w/Mueller this week, in fact.
2/ MIKE FLYNN, deputy chair of Trump Transition Team, natsec adviser: pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. Awaiting sentencing. Will one day get out of prison. Will always be an ugly, ugly man.

Pleased to announce a slate of #DirtyRubles Trump/Russia events, on three of the next five Sundays:
The event in Madison, my hometown, is taking place at an undisclosed secret location [insert Dick Cheney joke here]. If you'd like to come, you need to RSVP:

The Woodstock event is at one of my favorite bookstores in all the world, The Golden Notebook @we_love_books.

Last time I was there, I bought FANTASYLAND by @KBAndersen, one of the best books I've read in recent memory.

Let's talk about the Putin/Alt-Right/GOP propaganda machine—the REAL Devil's Triangle—as it relates to Brett #Kavanaugh:

[THREAD]
1/ This cozy little messaging arrangement, which operates happily in the dark most of the time, is now being exposed because of the fatally flawed candidate Donald Trump has nominated to the Supreme Court.
2/ The problem with Kavanaugh is manifold: first, that he had six-figure credit card debts paid off by creditors whose identity we still don’t know; second, that he lied during his initial testimony...

Things might feel a bit bleak. Kavanaugh might be in, Rosenstein might be out, and both would be horrible outcomes for democracy.

So let’s put things into perspective.

[THREAD]
1/ The Kavanaugh fight is not over. Even if he gets CONFIRMED, the fight is not over. He stands credibly accused of sexual assault, and he owes lots and lots of money to…we don’t know who.

There’s also this business of HIS (maybe) stolen emails:
2/ Dr. Ford will likely appear before Congress…and the GOP may bring in outside counsel (note spelling) because THERE ARE NO WOMEN REPUBLICANS ON THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE. This is HORRIBLE optics. It will cost them in November. Bigly.

Let’s talk about #Kavanaugh. This is why he should not be confirmed. And it has nothing to do with his political beliefs.

[THREAD]
1/ #Kavanaugh was not on the list of judges given to Trump by Judicial Watch, but he was tapped anyway. This was after Trump said he’d “study” (hahaha) judicial positions on various things—namely whether or not a POTUS can be indicted.
2/ When @ChuckGrassley says he didn't know about Christine Blasey Ford, he may well be telling the truth. The letter from those 65 women was likely produced ahead of time to defend #Kavanaugh against a DIFFERENT accuser(s) we don't yet know about.
