I've ruminated quite a bit on the anonymous op-ed published by NYT.

I've read it at least a dozen times.

I've listened to what really smart people have to say about it.

No matter how I litigate it in my mind, I always end up at the same bottomline.

#NYTimesOpEd
Although I am grateful there is a group of people within the administration who are mitigating Mr. Trump's worst inclinations, I do not believe the motives of the author are as altruistic as they claim.

Because no one is the villain in their own story.

2/
#NYTimesOpEd
In truth, the author is admitting that s/he is guarding their party and their grasp on power before they are protecting the country.

Because there are Constitutional remedies for this situation.

3/
#NYTimesOpEd
Constitutional remedies that the author readily admits were rejected by the group for fear of creating a Constitutional crisis.

4/
#NYTimesOpEd
But by rejecting those Constitutional remedies in favor of extra-Constitutional actions, creating a Constitutional crisis is *exactly* what they have done.

5/
#NYTimesOpEd
The persons participating in this so-called "resistance" are doing so to protect their party from the consequences of electing and protecting a man wholly unfit for the office in his clutches and to illegally foist the agenda *they alone* have set onto the country.

6/
#NYTOpEd
I'm about to use a word to describe this situation that many may find inflammatory.

I try to be a woman who is very careful with the words I use, so do not think for one moment that I take lightly what I am about to say.

7/
#NYTimesOpEd
If what the author of that piece in the NYT says is true, the situation we find ourselves in goes far beyond being a Constitutional crisis.

This is a coup d' etat.

8/
#NYTimesOpEd
When the average citizen thinks of a coup, the often think of a situation in which the military takes control of the government away from civilian authorities.

This isn't that kind of coup.

9/
#NYTimesOpEd
A coup can also be defined as a regime change, such as when a leader is illegally shuffled out of power without changing the identity of the group in power or the rules for governing.

That is *exactly* what the author describes as happening.

10/
#NYTimesOpEd
The Republican Party has NO RIGHT, Constitutionally or morally, to maintain control of the WH while hiding from the American people the nature and actions of the man whom they offered for the highest office in our government.

11/
#NYTimesOpEd
They continue to choose to pursue their treason with the actions the Republicans are taking to protect their hold on power and enable a man who is a clear and present danger to the republic.

12/
#NYTimesOpEd
The American people have the right to see how this man is *actually* trying to govern.

13/
#NYTimesOpEd
The truth of the matter is, the Republicans see the existential crisis they are in because of their continued treachery to enable Mr. Trump and frustrate efforts to reveal the possible illegitimate nature of their standard-bearer's ascendency to the presidency.

14/
#NYTimesOpEd
All of this against the backdrop of the unprecedented way the Republican party has subverted Constitutional and Senate norms to seize control of yet another branch of our government.

This. Is. A. Coup.

15/
#NYTimesOpEd
For the first time in our history, we must contemplate what the proper course of action is when an entire political party has breached their fealty to the nation and abrogated their Constitutional duty in favor of clinging to power illegitimately gained and maintained.

16/
#NYT
I don't know where we go from here.

We have no national history or institutional memory to guide us through something so unprecedented.

17/
#NYTimesOpEd
It is far past time for Republicans of good conscience to put their country before their Party and their desire for power.

And if they will not, then we must rise up as a nation and politically drive them into the sea.

18/
#NYTimesOpEd
We must do so in numbers so vast that even the attempts to breach the sanctity of our democratic processes cannot overcome it.

NOW is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country.

Let me answer a few of @JoshMcKoon concerns and keep "Team Perdue" from wasting their time chasing wild geese.

Teresa did volunteer her services as Interim Executive Director for one year to the fledgling MidTown, Inc.  She made no income that year while she raised $1.2 million in contributions.

2/
After the first year, she was hired by the Board as the Executive Director at a published salary.

Sometimes it takes us awhile to come to terms with our past.

Sometimes it takes years.

Sometimes it takes decades.

Fairly recently, I found myself having to reckon with my own past.

I accidentally opened the lid on a box hidden deep in my brain and examined the memories inside.

It took me by surprise, and I couldn't get the lid back on quick enough to stop myself.

I saw it.

Raw.

Unfiltered.

#DearProfessorFord
The box I had been keeping it on melted away.

There was nowhere left to hide it.

The memories just washed over me.

I found myself seeing what happened to me with new eyes.

Older eyes.

Wiser eyes.
