This is a falsehood, junk science, alternative fact, whatever you want to call it, but it is not true, like many other things related to #abortion, #contraception, and #reproductivehealth that are riddled with lies and junk science in order to feed an agenda. 2/

But we continue correcting the false narratives that r peddled abt these #reprohealth realities. There are multiple people stacking the White House who also agree with Kavanaugh...like this nominee that @AllyBoguhn reported for @Rewire_News last year: rewire.news/article/2017/0… 3/

In 2013 @AngryBlackLady wrote abt how emergency contraceptives r also not abortifacients, despite what most anti-choice groups say & argue in court. In fact, Plan B only prevents someone from becoming pregnant in the first place, by preventing ovulation 4/ rewire.news/article/2013/0…

But, the false claim that various contraceptives - birth control pills, IUDs, or emergency contraceptive methods - are 'abortion inducing' is not the only anti-science claim that rules the #reprohealth and #abortion landscape. 5/

In fact, in 2017 I wrote a piece for @Rewire_News that outlined new research out by @Guttmacher that found that at least ten common categories of state laws and policies restricting abortion run contrary to science. 6/ rewire.news/article/2017/0…

This shit ain't new. We've been correcting it for years, decades. But, when a Supreme Court Nominee peddles this anti-science and false information in his hearing? It's bad. 7/

My pessimism may be showing, but when the White House and Courts start to become full of people who have enough power to let their "alternative facts" run and craft policy and law about my healthcare and that of many millions, I don't know how else to feel. END.
