Ds must demand all emails to or from #Kavanaugh that were kept on Smartech's server! When Congress investigated the Bush WH's firing of 8 US attorneys, it learned the Bush admin. had used Smartech for its emails & deleted 22 MILLION of them. They were retrieved in 09. 1/
Here is a Snopes article re: the deleted and then retrieved 22 MILLION emails from the Bush administration. These deleted emails were not retrieved until 2009 and have never seen the light of day. 2/ snopes.com/fact-check/g-w…
3/ Per Craig Unger (editor Vanity Fair, author "Boss Rove"), the millions of missing emails were on RNC servers owned by Smartech: "Rove and more than EIGHTY OTHER WHITE HOUSE STAFFERS had their emails hosted on ... [the] SmarTech servers." harpers.org/blog/2012/09/_…
4/ More info on the Bush administration's use of RNC servers (that were owned by Smartech, per Craig Unger). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Whit…
5/ Kavanaugh was associate White House counsel for the Bush administration from 2001-2003 and staff secretary for the Bush administration after that. articles.baltimoresun.com/2006-05-10/new…
6/ Kavanaugh was very tight with the Bush administration. He represented George W. Bush in the case that blocked the hand recount in Florida after the 2000 election. mypalmbeachpost.com/news/brett-kav…
7/ It was Kavanaugh who woke up George W. Bush in the middle of the night to have him sign legislation to keep the body of brain-dead Terri Schiavo alive against the wishes of her husband. mypalmbeachpost.com/news/brett-kav…
8/ As we learned from questioning by @senatorleahy, it seems that #Kavanaugh lied in 04 & 06 about his receipt of confidential documents stolen from Democratic Congressional staff members re: George W. Bush's judicial nominees. slate.com/news-and-polit…
9/ Rove, who apparently kept 95% of his own emails on the Smartech server, seems to have held Kavanaugh in very high regard. crivellawest.com/CWNetCollectio…
10/ Source re: Karl Rove's use of RNC hosted servers for 95% of his email. (As shown above, Craig Unger says those servers were owned by Smartech.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Whit…
11/ It makes sense that Kavanaugh, like Rove and the 80 or so Bush White House staffers, would have used Smartech for his emails.
12/ Meanwhile, the New York Times has confirmed that Russia DID hack the RNC. Per Comey, the hacked emails were supposedly just some "OLD STUFF" hosted by .... wait for it... SMARTECH!!!! nytimes.com/2017/01/10/us/…
13/ So Democrats really need to ask #Kavanaugh NOW whether he used Smartech for his emails and, if so, demand to see all of them on the basis that we cannot have a SCOTUS judge subject to potential blackmail by Russia.
14/ P.S. @LindseyGrahamSC apparently had "news clips" and "campaign releases" on the Smartech server that was hacked. Perhaps there was more. It would explain a lot...
15/ P.P.S. Smartech was also the company that received Ohio's election results in 2004 due to a computer "glitch." The backup server that sent them there was created by Rove's IT guru Mike Connell. mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-…
16/ Discussion of the 2004 presidential election & how Kerry was winning Ohio when the servers went down. When they went back up, Bush was ahead. conwaydailysun.com/news/code-red-…
17/ John Kerry finally acknowledged earlier this week that his campaign did in fact suspect vote tally manipulation during the 2004 presidential election in Ohio. wnyc.org/story/john-ker…
18/ Link to my transcription of @johnkerry's statement about the Ohio 2004 presidential election and how he and his campaign did suspect vote tally manipulaiton. drive.google.com/file/d/1EUrd5o…
19/ Questions from Democrats about Smartech are long overdue, and the #Kavanaugh hearings provide an opportunity to raise them. It is critical that they seize this opportunity bc we need to know if Russia might have kompromat on Kavanaugh. If so, this should defeat his nomination
20/ The entire line of inquiry would also serve the important and necessary function of shining a spot light on the very real potential that Russia may have kompromat on various Republicans in Congress via the confirmed hacking of some "old stuff" on Smartech's server.
21. By the way, in post 1, I should have said "any and all," not "all." I don't know for sure that Kavanaugh used Smartech for his emails. But there is a good possibility that he did. Likewise, there is a good possibility that he received emails from others who used Smartech.
22/ @craigunger seems to have written more about Smartech than anyone. Here are excerpts from his book, Boss Rove. books.google.com/books?id=ZogRg…
24/ #Smartech
25/ Proposed script: It’s come to our attention that many members of the Bush WH used a #Smartech server 4 their emails. Given Comey’s confirmation that Russia hacked Smartech’s server, we must re-open the #Kavanaugh hearings to explore whether his emails may be in Putin’s hands.
As @soychicka shows, some of the scandal-ridden Bush administration emails received by #Kavanaugh came from #Smartech’s server. How many more that we haven’t seen? The Bush WH DELETED 22 MILLION that weren’t retrieved until 09. Russia hacked Smartech! 26/

Study shows that people of all political persuasions are willing to modify their beliefs based on corrective info from reliable sources, but “subjects ‘re-believed’ the false info when retested a week later.” 1/ news.northeastern.edu/2018/06/18/tir…
2/ The author of the article says It may help to warn people in advance that they are likely to forget the correction bc “this helps them mentally tag the bogus information as false.”
3/ It’s also “important that the corrective information be repeated as frequently, and with even greater clarity, than the myth.”

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but elections have been electronically suspect starting long before the Trump/Russia scandal. This article is lulling folks into a false sense of security, which is dangerous. Domestic hackers & insiders were always an equal threat. 1/

I agree, tho not enuf time (and 0 political will) to do this in Nov. Wish it were different. For now I hope to stop states from doubling up on electronics w/ touchscreen ballot markers. Using electronics to count votes is bad enuf. Having them mark our ballots too is nuts. 1/
Nuts except for those who are unable to hand mark their ballots. Once you have hand marked paper ballots they can be either scanned or hand counted (my preference) or both. 2/
Any time u put a machine between the voter and the paper record of voter intent there is an opportunity for programming mischief. Here is just the latest example.: 3/

I’m hoping some of the cyber experts who signed the letter about the risks of using cellular modems to transfer election results can answer this question. Thx! @philipbstark @SEGreenhalgh @rad_atl @jhalderm
P. 79 describes the modem elections.wi.gov/sites/default/…
Seeing as no one has answered yet, I will say that even if the cellular modems CAN be configured to bypass the internet, we should not have to blindly trust that vendors or whoever else is hired to set them up will do that. 1/

Kathy Rogers, the face & voice of @ESSVote, which has installed CELLULAR MODEMS in tabulators in WI & FL, is cozying up to @DHSgov which refuses to advise states to remove the modems despite a letter from 30 cyber experts & EI groups stating it should do so. #CorruptElections 1/

The notion that cellular modems affect only “unofficial” results is bogus bc, among other reasons, in certain jurisdictions, unofficial results become the official results once added to absentees & provisionals—sometimes w/o ever comparing them to the precinct results tapes! 1/
And Wisconsin doesn’t even require that counties publicly post the results tapes so that the public itself can make this comparison! (I don’t know about Florida, Michigan, & Illinois.) 2/
Thus, we must simply trust that someone trustworthy is conducting this due diligence. In Johnson County, Kansas, the County acknowledged that it does NOT conduct this basic due diligence. 3/
