I would love to see where slavery is enshrined or even mentioned in the constitution prior to the 13th that specifically outlaws its existence.
It is not.
It is not by design.
What the author doesn’t want you to know is many wanted slavery abolished right from the framing.
To form a nation, that issue had to wait. Immeasurable care was taken to never mention slavery, specifically to not allow any subsequent generation to construe slavery as protected or endorsed in anyway.
However, any language specifically banning slavery at the time of framing; half the Nation would not form. Natural rights are self evident. Just as it was said in our initial founding document.

“We hold these truths to be self evident, ALL MEN are created equal”.
Hard to argue with that.

Wouldn’t be long before enough folks step up and point out… “Um, aren’t those slaves… people?”… “well gosh, don’t they have the same rights then?”…
“Yes. Yes they do, thank you for noticing, let’s remedy that shall we?”
Truth always comes to light.
This was perfectly understood and was the strategy in forming our free nation. Had our nation not formed, conceived in liberty, every subsequent action becomes impossible.
Did racist exist during the founding. Yes Racist exist at all times in human history. It’s a dark form of competition and COMPETITION is baked into the human DNA.
It’s an unhealthy, ugly form, but IS a from of competition none the less.
Jefferson is a common punching bag of the left.

Jefferson, aided by ageless wisdom, penned the very words that not only expressed the propose in forming our nation, but indeed injected the ‘poison pill’ to settle the ultimate dispute on the side of liberty and not tyranny.
Slavery is tyranny in its most tyrannical form.

That’s the poison pill I’ve been referring. I cannot think of words more antithetical to slavery. In a nation based on this principle… such tyrannical practices cannot possibly exist or continue long. And it did not.
The hypocrisy of slavery, the fact its very definition is absolutely antithetical to our nations founding principles and must be stopped immediately was not missed on that days contemporaries in America. Guess what...
76 years, 1 month and a few days spanned the stain of slavery that sullied our Constitution, by virtue of its coexistence...

Nearly 620,000 Americans gave their lives in the conflict to right that great wrong.
Please, have a little respect for those men and their scarfice.

This article is clearly written from the leftist perspective laden in alike propaganda. Lamenting the current tribalism they assisted in promoting, all while sowing new seeds of division. How exhausting. 😒

As most of us expected, Brett Cavanaugh was confirmed as the 114th Supreme Court Justice.

After a particularly contentious confirmation process rife with rumor, innuendo and salacious accusations: largely described “palace intrigue” in the mass market media.
The notable decline in decorum with regard to judicial nominees within the united states senate has not gone unnoticed.
The correspondents were discussing whether there was a need to fundamentally change the senate or the Judicial confirmation process at least.
Of course my reflex reaction is: NO! Often reflex reactions can be wrong.
With little doubt do we have the same idea.
The talking heads would probably want to further bastardize the senate in some shape or form.

A concern my father expressed with the Michigan election... and he has a point.

Given it's not exclusive, however, this proposal will bring every beatnik leftist wanna be kid to the poles in droves...
I'm not knocking it... I probably support this and had a living off the care giver laws. I am watching the small guy getting run over and people that sold major wieght for years become "legitimized" taking over much of the industry here.
For example most grow stores, especially ME owned, have massive illegal grows behind them, same with dispensaries. I've watched one major player criminal after the next step into these roles because they have the cash.
