If it's not obvious, I write this from first hand experience. I was a convicted felon and am well versed in the struggles, spare me the stories. I already know, I lived them personally.
Many, not wanting to put forth the required effort, use their status as an excuse to quit trying.
This demonstrates weak character and that individual deserves little more that "would you like fries with that?"
Sidebar: Ordered just fries once, I was seriously asked if I wanted wanted fries with my fries.
Another time, my total was 4.16, I give the kid a 5 & 16 cents... With the most bewildered look he told me I gave him too much. 😒 Just gimme a dollar.
When I first got popped, I knew it was time to get a job. When you're guilty and you know it, mitigate the damage with a plea deal. Having a job makes all the difference... Gonna have to trust me on that.
I manged to get in entry level as a land surveyor. A very interesting, but (for my job) somewhat physically demanding. I walked all over the construction site pounding in stakes, marking where things went for the builders.
I had the opportunity to make a good impression on the owner. This proved essential in retaining my job once my case and sentancing hit.
The only winter I ever worked land surveying (seasonal job typically) was with the DTW wetland relocation. All related to the construction the the McNamara terminal at Metro. I did like the fact I had OT work and was getting paid. The job should not of existed IMO
It was deemed that some wetlands would be displaced and the required solution was to move them. Meaning, take another track of good, usable land and turn it into a swamp. 😒 Brilliant. This was a multimillion pointless project BTW. THAT'S why building costs are astronomical.
Other than the pointless job winter, every other winter I was laid off. This afforded me the opportunity to try out the more risky sakes jobs (risky as in, likely not to be paid for a while) I tried every nut job sales gig there was.
I sold filter queens, rounds of golf, light bulbs packed by the blind (seriously), cheap China stereo equipment out of a van in parking lots (seriously) most lasted a total of 1 day. I'd try anything. If something stuck cool, if not there is work in the spring.
I somehow got hired in as a loan officer. I almost didn't call thinking I had ZERO chance. I literally JUST got off parole. But at a previous job a guy was talking about being an LO in Cali, it sounded great and stuck in my mind. Saw the ad... No way, gotta try.
Spawned into a nice career for a bit. I saw having a realitor license as benificial. It took extra steps, given was a pain and I wish I didn't have the extra hurtled to clear, but I was a convicted felon. I demonstrated my worthiness and got my license.
As I advanced, joined a multi state firm, meaning I needed to be licensed in other states...Illinois in particular. This firm had a huge Chicago radio presence. I'm surprised they didn't ask for blood samples and a rectal exam... But I did eventually get licensed.
And on it went. There where opportunities that popped up my conviction did preclude me from. At the end of the day, it's all my own fault.
Don't expect excuses... Expect solutions. Those that use a felony conviction as an excuse doesn't want to try. Period. Seen it a thousand times over again in my lifetime. 🇺🇸

As most of us expected, Brett Cavanaugh was confirmed as the 114th Supreme Court Justice.
After a particularly contentious confirmation process rife with rumor, innuendo and salacious accusations: largely described “palace intrigue” in the mass market media.
The notable decline in decorum with regard to judicial nominees within the united states senate has not gone unnoticed.
The correspondents were discussing whether there was a need to fundamentally change the senate or the Judicial confirmation process at least.
Of course my reflex reaction is: NO! Often reflex reactions can be wrong.
With little doubt do we have the same idea.
The talking heads would probably want to further bastardize the senate in some shape or form.
🤣 That's hilarious. So this clown chimes in with this snarky comment. The irony is, it is she that is the partisan hack that doesn't know what she's talking about.
I noted Holder to be first cabinet official held in contempt of congress (fact BTW)
I promptly respond, using partisan sources, her partisan sources... @nytimes and @politico to show her her error. I love when cocky idiots step to me, it's great!
A concern my father expressed with the Michigan election... and he has a point.
Given it's not exclusive, however, this proposal will bring every beatnik leftist wanna be kid to the poles in droves...
I'm not knocking it... I probably support this and had a living off the care giver laws. I am watching the small guy getting run over and people that sold major wieght for years become "legitimized" taking over much of the industry here.
For example most grow stores, especially ME owned, have massive illegal grows behind them, same with dispensaries. I've watched one major player criminal after the next step into these roles because they have the cash.
@JohnJamesMI rocking ya out until election day. 👍🦅🗽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
For God & County!
However, I don't really wear ball caps anymore (good for that pic) ... Mainly the #MAGA stays on my armoire. 🇺🇸 But is on hand for special events. Procured from the Washington MI rally.
My favorite 2 flags are featured in each pic too! 🇺🇸🦅
First is my Mount Vernon flag, named because it was first flown on the flag pole of Washington's estate. Forget the day, the certificate is particularly in frame. This flag has been bannered in my home office ever since.
I was watching a 1977 episode of 'Soap' last night, this program could not be produced today. Not because Billy Crystal's gay character was concidering a sex change, attempted suicide, then opted against the sex change... No, this scene cought my attention... 👇
