And @OrrinHatch staff coordinated with Ed Whelan to find another way to discredit Dr. Blasey Ford. It wasn't their first attempt.

They had to figure out a way to discredit her without saying she was a liar and repeating the whole Anita Hill debacle.

So the first defense was the "recovered memories are faulty". They sent Linda Chavez out to @chrislhayes show to float it. Ed Whelan tweeted it (now deleted)

But that didn't work with the facts known (Blasey Ford shared it with a therapist in 2012, told her husband in 2006). And it was largely being laughed at by the media as speculation.
So back to the table. 3/

So they went with the doppelganger theory. But they HAD to have coordinated this with Kavanaugh. How would Ed Whelan know the doppelganger's childhood home was similar? How did he know the identity of Ford's friend? Someone with this knowledge had to clue them in. 4/

So first they sent out Kathleen Parker to float it without specifics of Chris Garrett. Seemed to work as a plausible deniability tactic. @OrrinHatch 's staffers are involved at this point because his Dep CoS previews the coming tweet storm. 5/

And then Whelan puts the meat on the bone, getting floorplans from Zillow, naming a person with a vague resemblance (both white guys with brown hair) who conveniently is on Kavanaugh's list of character witnesses, which leads me to believe he agreed to fall on the sword. 6/

Because Whelan has been a political operative for a long time and knows a defamation suit by an innocent man unfairly accused of attempted rape would destroy all credibility. Let that irony steep in you for a bit. 7/

Because if Garrett didn't know, they just did to him what they're accusing Dr. Blasey Ford of doing to the "impeccably character" Kavanaugh.

So let's assume Garrett agreed to this (he's a middle school teacher--this could have job repercussions, but whatever, he's along for the ride apparently.) (Suggested FBI investigation: has Garrett gotten a sudden payment of a substantial amount?)

Whelan names him as a possible *actual* attempted rapist and then walks it back, claiming he didn't imply guilt. BULLSHIT. That's EXACTLY what he did. It's a old-as-time GOP ploy: 9/

You poison the well. You call attention to the poison. People lose their mind over the poisoned well and then you walk it back BEFORE people stop and say "wait, who gave you that poison?"

Because the answer to this is BRETT KAVANAUGH gave him the poison. No one else could have provided all of this info. And it implicitly ADMITS that the attack happened.

And even if you don't think that an attempted rape 35 years ago is disqualifying (which makes you a garbage person). THESE ARE HIS ACTIONS **TODAY** TO GET ON THE HIGHEST COURT OF THE LAND. Lying. Cheating. Corrupt. Sneaky. Underhanded.

This is not a judicial temperament that belongs in a fricking traffic court, much less SCOTUS.

There is no other conclusion one can arrive at.

And since critical thinking is in short supply in DC, let me spell this out. KAVANAUGH KNEW THIS COULD COME OUT and the GOP has cynically lined up girl after woman after female friend to run interference for him from the beginning. IT HAPPENED AND THEY ALL KNOW IT
