And @OrrinHatch staff coordinated with Ed Whelan to find another way to discredit Dr. Blasey Ford. It wasn't their first attempt. They had to figure out a way to discredit her without saying she was a liar and repeating the whole Anita Hill debacle.

So the first defense was the "recovered memories are faulty". They sent Linda Chavez out to @chrislhayes show to float it. Ed Whelan tweeted it (now deleted)
