I believe @RahulGandhi , being the blathering idiot that he is, has actually lost the advantage @INCIndia has in the #Rafale issue by speaking without thinking. #Thread

So far, #Rafale discussion has been about the cost to the nation. Although even that was all hot air and faff, as a confusion and misinformation tactic it was effective.

Although BJP could well explain the cost figure differences like that fact that the cost Congress keeps talking about was just a bargaining point and never agreed upon in a contract, it’s quite well known BJP has been ineffective in communicating this to the masses clearly.

While tweeters like @Iyervval and @SirJadeja explained the fitouts, add ons and weaponry that affect the costs, BJP government has been ineffective in communicating these- be it due to the requisite secrecy or inherent ineptitude.

All this meant that due to general public’s distance from the jargon and mumbo-jumbo of technical details of #Rafale, the cost was an effective misinformation campaign against @narendramodi in favor of @INCIndia

Now, by letting go of the cost narrative on #Rafale and bringing the #Ambani angle based on #Hollande statement, @RahulGandhi has hit his foot on the axe.

First, Hollande’s credibility:
#Hollande is considered the worst president ever by the French. Yes, he was considered worse than Sarkozy by the French people. Sarkozy who allegedly received bribes from Gaddafi and has scandals in arms deal with Pakistan. theguardian.com/world/2013/oct…

Cahuzac was in French Finance Minister position in 2012 when Hollande made official visit to India to meet ManMohan Singh to try and seal #Rafale deal. Within weeks of which Dassault announced joint venture with Reliance. Cahuzac was arrested in March 2013.

Now if you believe #Hollande saying it was India who insisted on Reliance of Ambani for the #Rafale deal, that would be Manmohan Singh faced but Sonia Gandhi owned UPA government of 2012, not Modi government. livemint.com/Companies/JZbw…

Feb 2013 #Hollande came to India on an official state visit, to discuss #Rafale among other things. Then MEA Salman Khurshid said ‘Too early for Paris to pop the champagne yet’.

If UPA government was told by Dassault that HAL isn’t up to the task of making #Rafale jets, did the UPA government take any steps towards changing that? Improving HAL’s capabilities? Or did they know in Feb 2013 that it won’t be their problem in another year??

Did Sonia Gandhi go to Moscow in April 2018 for getting Russia’s instructions about Jet deal?

The official line was, Sonia went to Moscow to inaugurate Indira Gandhi exhibition. In April. Why? Indira wasn’t born in April, didn’t die in April, didn’t take office in April. Why would an Indian PM’s memorial in Moscow not be in Embassy business??

So, effectively @RahulGandhi has exposed that:
- cost difference was a misinformation campaign about #Rafale
- Ambani, Reliance received favor of Dassault in UPA regime
- HAL was inept but they did nothing about it
- Salman Khurshid stalled Rafale deal for no explained reason..

Also, @RahulGandhi makes it quite apparent that Sonia Gandhi and Congress have been in some covert business with Russia in relation to India’s defense deals. They are trying to sell India’s interests even while in opposition.
