Myth 1: sexual assault is just normal male behavior (boys will be boys, after all)
Myth 2: if it really happened, she would’ve reported it immediately (see #WhyIDidntReport for more on this)
Myth 3: being denied a prestigious job is basically the same as being imprisoned, or even killed
Myth 4: unless there are multiple accusers, it didn’t really happen (I wrote about this more here: vox.com/2018/9/24/1789…)
Myth 5: the accused should get a swift path to redemption, whether they make amends or not
The #MeToo movement is challenging all these myths. What happens with the Kavanaugh allegations will be a test of how much has changed
