Election issues that are important to me.

Voter integrity- making voting easier and ending gerrymandering

Climate change- we need to act immediately

Gun law reform- common sense gun laws

Immigration reform- let's fix the process to become a citizen

Jobs- good paying careers
Healthcare is a major issue to me.

That should have been number 1.
Its interesting that my brain went to the hot button issues immediately but after thinking about it for just a minute more, healthcare jumped out.

I suffer from PTSD due to my service.

Nobody questions if I have it and I don't need to explain how it occurred.

People believe me.

Why should it be any different for a woman who suffered from a sexual assault?

We should believe them too.
I have the safety of knowing that my trauma is over. I only speak about it when I choose to.

Survivors must relive their trauma to satisfy someone else's uncertainty.
I hear, "I understand if you don't want to talk about it."

Survivors get asked every single detail.

Something is going on but nobody seems to know what.

Whitehouse is talking to Sasse.

Coons has come back in from his meeting with Flake and is talking to Feinstein.

...hold up. Republicans walked out.

It looks like everyone is clearing out.

Something happened.
Grassley, Graham, and Hatch are the only Senators in the room.

The American spirit is something a storm can't break.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence I saw examples of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for their community.

Here are a few examples.

In Spring Lake, a woman organized a community supply drive where everyone came together to share their clothes, water, and food in order to service their neighbors.
In Willard I found a young man who took it upon himself to clean up his former elementary school grounds.

As I joined him he told me that it was just the right thing to do.
