CalPERS et al also invest in VC funds-if a diverse BOD becomes a prereq for investment in public cos, startup BODs may be next! cc @stewart
This may seem obscure but its a huge step forward: this is what will force US companies to appoint diverse BODs
(yes, other countries have quotas-& they are working-but, regardless of my preferences, few things are less likely in the US)
So, if CALPERS gets the SEC to require reporting on BOD diversity, how long till the same is required from startups?
(CALPERS is a LP in a bunch of VC funds; they could not only require reporting across all investments, but make inclusivity a requirement)

Thinking a lot lately about the VIPization of American culture & how its displaced the notion of equality. Curious about when this started..
I'd like to read a history of VIP sections:)When did they become mainstream/acceptable/legitimate? How are they justified to kids?Any recs?
