2/ #CETA does not mea lowering standards for consumers - all imports have to satisfy EU's famously high standards on food safety and GMOs
3/ Existing environmental agreements go ahead - there are even provisions on conservation/sustainable management of natural resources #CETA
4/ Over 140 European products, from Gouda cheese to Parma ham, will be protected from imitations and knock offs under #CETA
5/ The protection of 140 special products in Europe will help small rural communities to market their distinctive food and drink #CETA
6/ #CETA has a dispute system w independent judges & high ethical standards - firms can't sue governments just because profits are affected

1/ The human brain is an imperfect machine. There are some common illusions and cognitive traps that advertisers, marketers and propagandists (and occasionally speechwriters 😉) will use to persuade you of things.

Here are a few common ones👇
2/ SOCIAL PROOF: when you are presented with a "consensus" on an idea, you are more likely to believe that the idea. E.g. when a political party shares polls showing that they're in the lead 📊

3/ RECIPROCITY: you are wired to respond to a positive action with another positive action (like becoming more cooperative or friendly). E.g. when a shop offers you a "free taste" to lure you into an aggressive sales pitch.
