1) Being a gun safety activist is tough, especially as a woman. That's why I'm sharing this email from an Arkansas @momsdemand volunteer.

2) "Dear Shannon: When I heard about #SandyHook, I was sitting in front of a classroom full of students. It was my daughter's 2nd birthday."

3) "I was full of fear for my students and my children. But I KNEW we wouldn't continue to accept the state of gun laws in our country."

4) But (as far as I knew) things DIDN'T change. Two years ago, I put out a desperate Facebook call: What can we do to end gun violence?"

5) "All of my smartest friends responded in the same way: 'Look up @MomsDemand.' I did, and I got involved in Arkansas in November of 2016."

6) "The outpouring of energy, activism, creativity and CHANGE from these women (and some men) has been without compare in my life."

7) "All of this led me to the decision to run for state rep next session. And a brilliant lawyer here is about to announce her run, too."
