So, a couple of things that have been bothering me about my #voting experience today..

#Thread

Well, *mini thread*
Now, I have lived at my current address for *slightly* over two years, so I've had a few opportunities to vote at this address..

Presidential Primaries
The Horrible Events that Transpired Last November
*The special election that I was Actually not allowed to vote in
*That was an interesting case.. I was Certain I was allowed to vote for Brian Benjamin in the Special Election.. they spent time looking thru the rolls but eventually gave me an affidavit ballot
When I looked later it appeared I was cut off from voting by 1 block because of don't Really Bizarre gerrymandering Bull.. and I got a letter later to that effect
Well, they didn't say

"We gerrymandered your block out of voting for this election"

But, you know what I mean.. look at the cut-outs on this thing.. especially uptown

WTActualF?
*some really Bizarre
But, ok, he won so I shrugged it off...

But *Today* I go to #vote...

Remember;
I haven't moved
I've actively voted
Even tried to vote when they unfairly leveraged me out of having access to do so

I'm not on the rolls

I've been purged
So

*Today*

I have to fill out Another affidavit vote And another voter registration form..

Which leads me to my next point...
On the affidavit form you have to fill out a lengthy section confirming identity

That makes sense, I don't mind that since it could be abused otherwise...

But, when you get to the middle there's a section requesting three items:
Email: Optional
Phone: Optional
Gender: Male

So I leave that section blank {#vote} & bring the whole package back up to the volunteer table & bring it up gently

'hey, just wanted to check.. these items say optional but gender didn't. Is that just an oversight?'
She says she thinks it's for legal reasons (cuz some names could go either way? Which makes no sense)

So I point out that Some people don't necessarily identify as Either M\F & it's rather odd to insist on someone having to choose one

She was Super cool (this little old Gal)
Got it immediately & said she'd bring it up (&I got the feeling she Totally would IRL) & then gave me a Pound

She was 65+ if she was a Day!

Then as I was walking out some of the other ladies stopped me to make sure I got one of the Blue "I Voted" stickers...

{These ones}
Because "they were for Women" & they liked my hair!

{It's 'Shark Blue' by ion with a touch of Violet grey so it's not Too cartoony}

So the attempt was *successful*

Well, ish

But - WHY was I purged from the rolls?🤔😒
