In the coming days, we will be posting a full HOWTO on organising your parish council to stop Brexit. Please promote the cause, and organise locally - and add #PCSB to your username! Five characters that could make the world of a difference #FBPE #WATON

In this thread I will be posting a quick and easy guide to stopping Brexit with your parish council. I will use the example of Wembury Parish Council but this applies equally to any parish council. #PCSB #FBPE #WATON #ABTV

1) Google the name of your parish council - this will help you find your parish council meeting dates. #PCSB

3) get in touch with ten (just ten!) people from your parish/town council and arrange to go to your parish council meeting on this date at the location of your parish council meeting - in our example, the hashtag #PCSBWembury (use your parish council name!) will be useful here.

4) at the end of the meeting of your parish council, request that your parish council holds a Parish Council Referendum on the topic of Britain's Membership of the European Union . Your parish council must BY LAW comply under the Local Government Act 1972 #PCSB

5) It's campaign time! Organise (again using, for example, #PCSBWembury if you live in Wembury) to say NO to Brexit and YES to the EU. This is YOUR parish council's chance to have YOUR say #PCSB
