I have been quietly asked why I am so adamant about promoting #MarchForOurLives. So bear with me. I have attended numerous military funerals for those I served with. Friends. Last year, one I felt as close to as a true brother was gunned down in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was carrying groceries into his garage, in a gated community, on a secure, Military installation. 2 armed youths shot him twice each in his garage. He was a decorated, honorably discharged soldier working as a military contract on a Security job.
One loss too many, leaving behind a new wife of just one year and a mother who had lost her husband the year before. But I am 52 years old. The kids of #ParklandShooting are kids! And yet, they are having to grieve while also doing the jobs their government fails to do!
Again y'all, I am just a little nobody so I tagged you big everybody's to make something happen please. I may not be much but I ain't a complete loss. Help a veteran out, k?
