2/ Well the attacks on the GFA by the ultra Brexiteers continued yesterday despite none of them raising this as a Brexit related issue before the referendum and after the phase 1 report was agreed

3/ And if the GFA is not sustainable in light of this chart, maybe the Brexiters could articulate what they consider to be sustainable rather than attacking it because it gets in the way of Brexit

4/ I am no expert but if I was planning Brexit I would at least do some due diligence first otherwise I would look silly promising something that is undeliverable.
5/ But rather than admit shortcomings or a lack of planning, the ultra Brexiters like to blame others...
6/ Brexiter reasons for Brexit not going to plan: 16.2m remainers, judges, civil service, academia, the EU, EU27, House of Lords, the UK population in the last GE for not backing GOV, the GFA/Irish, and eventually the WTO
But not triggering article 50 with no plan
7/ Belatedly there is a growing movement from politicians for Brexit to be evidence based rather than on the guff fuelled drivel that blowhards like @BorisJohnson 🤡 rely on standard.co.uk/news/uk/theres…
8/ Indeed there is an increasing call for honesty about the trade offs that Brexit means in an interconnected globalised world standard.co.uk/comment/commen…
9/ Indeed some may say exercising our control to decide to be part of the EU was a way to achieve security and prosperity until everyone decided foreigners were to blame for austerity
10/ Just imagine a deal with full participation in the SM, preserving the GFA, opt outs but vetos on treaty change & new member states, benefits from global trade deals at a time when the world & EU economies are booming & you can influence a global race to the top in standards
11/ And then on top of that you get a rebate 🤔
12/ No wonder the tech industry (which is the future according to Global Liam Fox) quite likes the current arrangements telegraph.co.uk/business/2018/…
13/ Tech can be added to this list who think Brexit to be on balance a bit shit: pharma, science, financial services, audiovisual services, automotive, chemicals, academia, NHS, engineering, retail, manufacturing, London, Scotland, Gibraltar, Northern Ireland, Cornwall & Grimsby
14/ After all what else explains this change the UK? I will give you a clue, it is not the weather

15/ Faced with all this, you would expect the UK's crack negotiating team to have a detailed plan that delivers a material improvement in the deal we had before. Here is their strategy

16/ Anyone pointing out that that tactic will leave us worse off and which is not what Brexit promised IS A FUCKING TRAITOR WITH NO FAITH IN OUR COUNTRY
17/ By contrast the ultra Brexiters who are part of the process of making sure we get a good deal are PATRIOTS WHO WOULD BLEED FOR THEIR COUNTRY and at the very least go the extra mile to prove Brexit will be net positive
18/ I cannot imagine why some of them did not go to meet @MichelBarnier as part of their duties of the Exiting EU Committee

19/ One possible explanation, which some may consider fanciful, is they are a bunch of shitbags who don't care 🖕🖕🖕
20/ Still perhaps your correspondent is overreacting. After all Cretinus Maximus @DavidDavisMP has promised that Brexit will not turn the UK into a Mad Max dystopia 😱

21/ Cretinus Maximus @DavidDavisMP has previously said he does not know much, did not know you could not negotiate individual deals with member states, said we would get the "exact same benefits" & has changed his mind as "the facts changed" so this is a welcome reassurance 🤗
22/ Still I note he was careful not to rule out the return of the bubonic plague which would be an effective way to reduce the strain on the NHS as the UK unilaterally fucks up its economy and in turn revenues for the NHS #Brexitopportunity

2/ That was one of the core arguments for leaving the EU and has been one of the core redlines set by @theresa_may in approach to the Brexit negotiations
3/ And what a monumental waste of time, energy and goodwill that redline has been. Why so? Surely it is great that EU citizens will have their rights guaranteed?
3/ The M20 is not a lorry park. It’s a vital transport artery. Currently work is being undertaken to strengthen the hard shoulder for 13 miles because it could be a lorry park come March
