1/ A few years ago I saw a job advert and thought that looks exciting.

My current job is very good but I find my boss a bit annoying. And maybe I can earn a bit more and become the boss at the new place 2/ So I contacted the recruiter who told me this is my dream job, great pay, more control, better work/ life balance.

1/ FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT MUST END. WE NEED TO CONTROL OUR BORDERS. WE NEED TO LEAVE THE EU 2/ That was one of the core arguments for leaving the EU and has been one of the core redlines set by @theresa_may in approach to the Brexit negotiations

1/ The European Council (28 national governments who are all elected) vote for a Commission President who is then voted on by MEPs (who are all elected).

The president puts forward a team of commissioners who are voted on as a whole by the European Parliament. 2/ The President and Commission are elected on a 5 year term.

The President and Commission can be removed by the Parliament (the MEPs you vote for).

1/ Parliament is stuck and needs the help of the people. 2/ Parliament voted to empower the PM to trigger article 50 starting a 2 year clock with no agreed credible plan or safeguards.

Unless the 2 year period is extended or the end date changed by the withdrawal agreement, the UK leaves the EU automatically in March 2019

@EmporersNewC - I will add it this as and when i find other useful quotes @IanAustinMP said

In order for the result to be accepted and for it to be long lasting and settle the question for a generation, it is very important that the process is seen to be fair on all sides.

1/ @JolyonMaugham you may like to observe that @OwenPaterson said this in the debate on the EU referendum bill:

"the British public have a real sense of fairness, and if they have a sense that this referendum is rigged, the result will not be legitimate" 2/ Or @cmackinlay who said in the debate:

Referendums do not come round very often, so this has to be
a proper referendum. It must not be pored and raked over after the event, with
people saying, “It wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t quite fair”.

1/ Welcome to Thursday in the independent republic of Brexitlandia 2/ It has been exciting two days in Brexitlandia where argument raged in the House of Commons over what Brexit means in practice. Which is funny because nobody knows what Brexit means 🙄

1/ Brexitlandia musings while the House of Commons debates what Brexit means 2/ If it is now agreed by amendment that there can be no hard border in Ireland, it follows that "no deal" does not seem to be an option. Never say never, but it would seem too late for Brexiters to oust May and replace her with the Ghost of Victorian Past @Jacob_Rees_Mogg

1/ Welcome to Tuesday in the independent republic of Brexitlandia 2/ Today is a big day in Brexitlandia. There will be lots of votes on the withdrawal bill, a hearing on the article 50 challenge and we just may get a report from the Electoral Commission on Vote Leave, including two of @theresa_may minions who were at the heart of Vote Leave 🤐
