1/ The European Council (28 national governments who are all elected) vote for a Commission President who is then voted on by MEPs (who are all elected).
The president puts forward a team of commissioners who are voted on as a whole by the European Parliament.
2/ The President and Commission are elected on a 5 year term.
The President and Commission can be removed by the Parliament (the MEPs you vote for).

2/ Parliament voted to empower the PM to trigger article 50 starting a 2 year clock with no agreed credible plan or safeguards.
Unless the 2 year period is extended or the end date changed by the withdrawal agreement, the UK leaves the EU automatically in March 2019

a proper referendum. It must not be pored and raked over after the event, with
