At @OrgIAC#FreeIran lunch at @PressClubDC, Rudy Giuliani opens his remarks by saying that the #IranProtests “are not sporadic. They’re obviously well organized.” He thanks French president Macron for refusing to accede to Rouhani’s demand he eject @Maryam_Rajavi from France.
At @OrgIAC lunch, Rudy Giuliani notes the #IranProtests are taking place all over the country, with all demographics and ethnic groups participating. “What unites a not-very-united Iran is opposition to the regime. Opposition to Khomeini, Khamenei, Rouhani.” #FreeIran
At @OrgIAC#FreeIran lunch, Rudy Giuliani has high words of praise for @nikkihaley, who has been strong in her support for #IranProtests. “The administration should let Nikki Haley go free. They should let her do what she wants.” He adds, “She’s one tough lady.”

I’m in NYC covering this event, which comes days before President Trump chairs a U.N. Security Council meeting on Iran here. I mentioned to an organizer that the turnout was impressive; I’d wondered if the Paris plot might scare people off. “We’ve seen worse,” he said wryly.
A tribute to the recently deceased senator John McCain, quoting many of his words of friendship for the Iranian people and his support of freedom fighters in Iran. It’s unfortunate he won’t one day celebrate in Tehran next to a statue of Neda. #FreeIran#FreeIran2018#NoToRouhani
