In my final piece on #BlackPanther, I count all the ways Nakia, not T'Challa or Erik, is the literal MVP of the aforementioned film.

There has been much discussion #onhere about who was truly right or wrong in the film. And while I have actually enjoyed damn near all of it, I have been curious as to why many of these discussions are leaving out Sister Nakia 🤔

And by curious, I mean tickled because its exposing hella biases and I don't think people even realize it lol

Besides obvious misogynoir, there is the fact that some folx literally need a dude to say something before they take it seriously. Because as clear as Nakia was in this film, I still saw folx (men) saying she did not illustrate her point "loudly" enough.

But wait, I thought we didn't like loud BW (as demonstrated by #HaddishGate)? Thought we found them annoying, ratchet, and not eloquent at all? And I thought this would be 50 times worse for someone as dark as Nakia was?

So which one is it?

...Exactly. You don't know. You just like moving goalposts 🤷🏾‍♀️

Other than that? I just really wanted to discuss the really interesting dichotomy between Erik and Nakia.

Some folx hinted at it, but I think it's worth addressing that both Erik and Nakia represent two very different styles of campaigning for social change:

Activism vs Advocacy

And it's worth discussing which one may be more effective at certain times and how that can change (or remain the same).
