Prathama : #Shailputri
वन्दे वांछित लाभाय चन्द्रार्द्वकृत शेखराम I
वृषारूढ़ा शूलधरां शैलपुत्री यशस्विनीम II

Daughter of Himalaya, is first of the 9 eternal Shakti-Roops. Wields a trident in right hand to protect devotees, a lotus in left for knowledge & peace. Rides a bull.

Dwitiya #Brahmmcharini:
दधाना कर पद्माभ्यामक्षमाला कमण्डलू।
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥

Austere in conduct; she is 2nd of the 9 eternal Shaktis; adorned in white; Japmala in right hand; Kamandal in left; bestower of ‘satt, chitt, anand’ i.e. truth, awareness, bliss.

Tratiya #Chandraghanta

पिण्डज प्रवरारूढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता।
प्रसादं तनुते मह्यम् चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता॥

Crescent moon on forehead; 3rd of the 9 eternal Shaktis; golden n majestic; wields lotus, kamandal, trident, mace, sword, bow, arrow; japmala; fierce pursuer of demons.

Chaturh #Kushmanda

सुरासम्पूर्ण कलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च।
दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु मे॥

Procreater of Cosmos, 4th of the 9 Shaktis; Sun her abode; her light permeating all; wields lotus, kamndal, bow, arrow, Chakra, mace, kalsh & japmala; bestower of good fortune.

Pancham #Skandmata

सिंहासनगता नित्यं पद्माश्रितकरद्वया।
शुभदास्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी॥

Mother of Skand, who annihilated Tarkasur; 5th of the 9 Shaktis; holding Skand in her lap with one hand; wielding lotuses in two, one hand raised in blessing; radiant white in face.

Shashtham #Katyayani:

चंद्र हासोज्ज वलकरा शार्दू लवर वाहना |
कात्यायनी शुभं दद्या देवी दानव घातिनि ||

Endower of Dharm, Arth, Kaam & Moksha; 6th of the 9 eternal Shaktis; radiant golden face emitting calmness; carries a lotus in one hand; a sword in other; two raised to bless.

Saptam #Kaalratri

या देवी ब्रह्मांडे कालरात्रि रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Fierce in face; 7th of the 9 Shaktis; three eyed; carbon black; hair disheveled; a white garland adorning her. she's Shubhakarni (auspicious) for devotees; death for sinners!

Ashtam #MahaGauri

श्वेते वृषे समारुढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः।
महागौरी शुभं दघान्महादेवप्रमोददा॥

White in face; 8th of the 9 Shaktis; leads devotees from dark (Tamas) to light ( Sattva); white clothes; white bull; wields trident & Damru; endower of peace, prosperity & salvation!

Navam #Siddhidatri

सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाद्यैर सुरैरमरै रवि।
सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥

Endower of Siddhis; 9th of the 9 Shaktis; seated on lotus, wielding chakra, mace, lotus & conch; the compassionate Devi Siddhidatri grants special powers to her true devotees!

Praying to NavDurga is the privilege of all Hindus. All over India festivities like Garba, Kanya Poojan, Jagran etc are held.

देहि सौभाग्यं आरोग्यं देहि में परमं सुखम्‌।
रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥
