As per the PIB release by CBDT the total number of returns is 6.84 crores, so what about the rest of Aadhaar linked PAN cards?
If extending Govt/UIDAI logic, the PAN card holders who are not filing returns are fraud, so why it is not applicable to Aadhaar linked PAN too? 😂
Tell us or enlighten the Court how you are differentiate between 10.56 PAN card holders who linked Aadhaar but not filed returns and
the total 29.16 PAN holders which are a group of PAN including both linked & non-linked with Aadhaar.
The biggest lie repeating is the total number of PAN cards.
CBDT has a database of active PAN cards, why this data is not quoted by Government/UIDAI?
Why you always want to tell about the total number of PAN cards issued, which includes dormant PAN cards of deceased persons too
To expose this big lie, the Petitioners lawyers or RTI activists should ask for the total number of new PAN card issued after making Aadhaar compulsory for its issue & disclose how many of those filing IT returns?
Here this number of 11 lakhs is right, but please remember that this figure is first disclosed in 2007 in a QN to Parliament. No further large scale duplicate PANs detected after 2007..WHY???😛

Reason is simple. Firstly there was no software tweak to weed out duplicate PAN and it was open to the public then to have more than one PAN. If you lose your PAN card, you used to apply for the next one, first one remained dormant in the system!
So these duplicate PAN cards are different from the fake PAN cards, Government/UIDAI used to mix both these and project this number of 11.3 lakhs cards in 36 crores PAN cards as the biggest loop in our tax net!
Yep, 0.31% duplicate PAN cards are the resident evil 😈
Enlighten us how many duplicate PAN cards UIDAI or CBDT found out after linking it with Aadhaar?
ZERO ???
When the PAN software is able to find out 11.3 lakhs duplicate PAN cards, why the great exclusion tool Aadhaar is not able to add a single duplicate PAN card to the tally?
When you speak about duplicate PAN cards why you are not making a comparison with duplicate Aadhaar cards?
Yep. @databaazi will give you the number of Aadhaar cards disabled due to de-duplication.
Enlighten us how this is different from duplication process of PAN?
Enlighten us the % of de-duplicated Aadhaar card number is high than the % of de-duplicated PAN cards? If it's higher, your de-duplication theory will fall apart. Also remember that obtain duplicate Aadhaar is a criminal offence since day one while PAN was never been from day one
Also please provide the number of FAKE Aadhaar cards already detected by law enforcement agencies and let's have a comparison of similar type of PAN cards. It will also expose your fallacy!
Now read this, how people end up with duplicate PAN cards, yep, 0.3% of the people of the total PAN cards
The reasons for duplicate PAN cards are further detailed here
The IT Act amended in 2002 and inserted Section 272B to impose a penalty of ₹10,000, if you possess a duplicate PAN card. But many people are not aware of the same incometaxindia.gov.in/Acts/Finance%2…
Now apply Nilekanni logic here:
“There are 250 million PANs (permanent account numbers),” Nilekani says, "but only about 40 million who file returns."
You have 17 crores Aadhaar linked PAN, why only 6 crores only paying Income tax? Please answer 🤣
Here is the CBDT press release dated 2nd April 2018 regarding the latest status of the number of income returns filed. See the number of 6.84 crores
Now read my first article in @thewire_in about Duplicate PAN cards, when ASG for UIDAI still serving the stale soup to the Supreme Court mocking our common sense and logic!
Now a couple of friends shared this information to me.
Let's crunch these numbers

What is the first one? Individual registered users
They are the people who are registered with Efile portal of IT Dept, of course, it's a mix of active and dormant users!
What is the second set? Registered & Aadhaar linked
Of course, the ones who registered in Efile portal & their PAN is linked with Aadhaar. This do not need to indicate whether they submitted returns or not. But most of them will be active tax payers.
Who is the third set? Not registered but Aadhaar linked
They may be the people who are not registered in the Efile portal but filing returns still manually by post and who have linked their PAN with Aadhaar.
4th set is the number of people who use e-verification facility in the Efile portal of IT, instead of taking a print out of the acknowledgement of tax filing and posting that form to CPC. But the bythey are just 4 lakh plus!
Less than 1% of the people who use e-portal!

Many here asked me why I am not reacted to the latest RBI Annual Report which exposed DeMon as nothing but a perverted dream of a Tughlak.
First of all there was nothing surprising elements there for me!!
Then everyone was discussing the amount of 99% returned to the system! Some sigh of relief as our Urjit stop counting, but I don't get any evidence that he has stopped that!!
Because still we hear about old SBN notes are seized by agencies ;)
Annual Report 2017-18 of the RBI that Rs.15.311 trillion Specified Bank Notes was returned. While RBI in its AR in 2016-17 itself admitted that as of June 30, 2017, received Rs.15.28 trillion of SBN.
IMD started issuing alerts "be prepared" from August 8! "For action" was issued on August 9.
At least glad that IMD admitted that their alerts were that close.
Also thank you for not claiming that they have issued alerts for "extreme rainfall" and only "heavy rainfall" then
I scanned all those reports of this regional office issued. NOWHERE I SEEN AN EXTREME RAINFALL EVENT ALERT. Each Monsoon season IMD used to issue HEAVY TO VERY HEAVY RAINFALL alerts and small reservoirs used to spill and the spate will be comfortably negotiated by the rivers
Please understand the nuances. We can negotiate a heavy rainfall event, whatever allowances in the dams and river channels are sufficient to negotiate that one. You will see some flooding, may be a knee deep one & dams spill w/o any problems
"In Kerala, there’s no reason to damn the dams" here is my answer to all pundits who are preaching an early opening of Idukki would have saved the flooding of Periyar..
I felt depressed when a person who served as the Director of the prestigious IITM says that he has given warning & Kerala has no respect for his warning but Odisha has!!
Oh boy!! I am at a loss if you cant discern cyclones in East coast and extreme rainfall in Western coast
With due respect to his credentials as an expert environmentalist, I differ with him, because this is a repeat of 1924 and this type of extreme events will occur with an annual exceedence probability of 9.52% in a span of 100 years!
How many dams are there in Achecoil, Manimala & Meenachil which created havoc in Central Kerala?
ZERO
How much yield of Pamba River is impounded in the dams there?
JUST 10.4%
Blame it on dams!!
Come to the Northern Kerala.....
There you have the Great Chaliyar River, which flows through Kozhikode and Malappuram Districts.
How many dams are there is this Chaliyar River basin other than some small weirs?
ZERO.
Blame it on dams..
Why ur doing annual maintenance of Idukki machines whn the Monsoon is active?
Smart QN.
But understand that Idukki is meeting Kerala's peak energy demand, its annual maintenance are done during monsoon and its all machine are needed in summer whn demand high, not in monsoon
