1) John Brennan's Role in the FBI's Counterintelligence Investigation into the Trump Campaign. #Brennan #JohnBrennan…
2) In the summer of 2016, Robert Hannigan, head of Britain’s GCHQ flew to DC to meet with CIA Head John Brennan regarding alleged communications between the Trump Campaign and Moscow.
3) The meeting between Hannigan and Brennan appears somewhat…unusual.

Hannigan’s U.S. counterpart was not CIA Director Brennan.

Hannigan’s U.S. counterpart was NSA Director Mike Rogers.
4) In April 2016, Brennan obtained information from an intelligence agency of one of the Baltic States that "worried" him.

The foreign intelligence information flow began in late 2015 and came from a number of western agencies.
5) For those wondering over reasoning behind British and EU involvement I would offer the following:
6) The EU and Britain establishments were both threatened by Trump's Candidacy.
7) Brennan used this foreign intelligence information to launch an inter-agency task force.

The FBI, Treasury and DOJ domestically.

CIA, DNI and NSA for foreign and intelligence aspects.
8) It was reported that lawyers from the DOJ's National Security Division drew up a FISA application seeking permission to intercept electronic records from 2 Russian Banks.

This June FIA Application was reportedly denied.
9) I recently published an article detailing the litany of FISA abuses uncovered by NSA Director Rogers in 2016:…
10) Rogers verbally informed the FISA Court of his findings on October 24, 2016 and in written form on October 26, 2016.

The abuses covered the period from November 2015 to May 2016 and centered around the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division and DOJ’s National Security Division.
11) From the FISC April 26, 2017 Ruling:

The Court is nonetheless concerned about the FBI’s apparent disregard of minimization rules and whether the FBI may be engaging in similar disclosures of raw Section 702 information that have not been reported.…
12) At this juncture, we don't know if there was a June 2016 FISA Application.

Details surrounding the possible June 2016 failed FISA Application have become minimal following the confirmation of the October 21, 2016 Carter Page FISA Warrant.
13) If the Application does exist the background documentation may ultimately prove more insightful than the Page FISA Application.

We know that Sen. Grassley requested information regarding the June 2016 FISA Application in a June 28, 2017 letter.…
14) There is still much to be learned about the period leading up to the FBI’s initiation of a Counterintelligence Investigation into the Trump Campaign.

Brennan’s May 23, 2017 House Intelligence testimony provided some further clues to what was transpiring.
15) Brennan:

"I was aware of intelligence and information about contacts between Russian officials and U.S. persons that raised concerns in my mind...and it served as the basis for the FBI investigation to determine whether such collusion occurred."
16) During Congressional testimony, Brennan repeatedly stated he turned over any and all evidence the CIA had to the FBI.

"Anything that was involving U.S. persons, including anything involving the individuals involved in the Trump campaign was shared with the bureau."
17) On a February 4, 2018 appearance on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, Brennan got more specific:

"We had collected a fair amount of information in the summer of 2016 about what the Russians were doing and we wanted to make sure that the FBI had full access to that."
18) Todd: Did the Papadopoulos thing come through the CIA via the Five Eyes thing?

Brennan: I’m not going to get into details about how it was acquired. But the FBI has very close relationship with its British counterparts.
19) FBI Dir Comey testified that he didn't notify Congress until early March 2017 of the FBI Counterintelligence Investigation.

He blamed FBI Counterintelligence head Bill Priestap.

"it’s usually the decision of the head of our counter-intelligence division."
20) Brennan noted he took a different approach and in his May 23, 2017 Congressional testimony effectively tossed both Comey and Priestap under the Congressional bus.
21) "We kept congress apprised of these issues as we identified them. In consultation with the White House, I personally briefed the full details of our understanding of Russian attempts to interfere in the election to congressional leadership."
22) Brennan is very careful to go on record in his opening statement that he briefed the Congressional Gang of Eight back in August and September of 2016.

Shortly after the FBI began the Trump-Russia Counterintelligence Investigation in July 2016.
23) Summarized Brennan timeline:

April 2016 – Brennan shown intelligence that “worried” him. The intelligence was passed to the US by an intelligence agency of one of the Baltic States.

April-June 2016 – Information flow from British Intelligence Agencies to CIA continues.
24) May/June 2016 – Brennan creates a six-agency task force to investigate.

Early Summer (probably June) 2016 – Brennan is briefed in-person by GCHQ’s then-head, Robert Hannigan, on information in the possession of British Intelligence.
25) June 2016 – Brennan passes his intelligence to the FBI. This intelligence “served as the basis for the FBI investigation”.

June 2016 – Possible FISA Application prepared by NSD lawyers.

July 2016 – FBI opens Counterintelligence Investigation into the Trump Campaign.
26) Late July/Early Aug 2016 – Brennan briefs Obama and three senior Obama Advisors.

Mid Aug/Early Sep 2016 – Brennan briefs Congressional Gang of Eight.

Brennan’s meeting with Sen. Harry Reid results in Reid writing letter to Comey demanding a public investigation.
27) Mid/Late Sep 2016 – Brennan, Clapper and Comey begin work on three Russian Interference reports. culminating in the Intelligence Community Assessment regarding Russian interference.

Oct 7 2016 – 1st Report – Joint Statement regarding Russian Interference – is released.
28) Oct 21 2016 – FBI obtains FISA Warrant on Carter Page.

Oct 26 2016 – NSA Dir Rogers notifies FISA Court of Section 702 abuses.

Dec 2016 – Brennan provides CIA Assessment to Obama. Claims Russia intervened in ’16 election to help Trump and impair Hillary Clinton’s chances.
29) Brennan repeats this during Congressional testimony:

"Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the U.S. Democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton and harm her elect-ability and potential presidency. And to help President Trump’s election chances."
30) Dec 29 2016 – 2nd Report – GRIZZLY STEPPE - is released.

Jan 6 2017 – 3rd report – Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections – is released.

The Reports are simplistic and vague.…
31) NSA Dir Rogers disagreed with IC Assessment:

CIA and FBI have high confidence in this judgment; NSA has only moderate confidence.

Rogers: It didn’t have the same level of sourcing and the same level of multiple sources.
32) House Intel final Report notes:

Leaks prior to the classified Intelligence Community Assessment’s publication, particularly leaks occurring after the U.S. presidential election, correlate to specific language found in the Intelligence Community Assessment.
33) Brennan’s investigation into Trump-Russia began April '16.

FBI began Counterintelligence Inv into Trump Campaign in July '16.

FBI used Steele Dossier for FISA Warrant in October 2016.

SC Mueller began investigation in May 2017.
34) 2 years of multiple investigations, by multiple Agencies and countless individuals, no evidence of Trump-Russia Collusion has been found.

It all originated with CIA Director John Brennan.
35) Contrast Brennan’s actions with FBI’s reason for Counterintelligence Investigation into the Trump Campaign – George Papadopoulos.
36) FBI did not bother to interview Papadopoulos until Jan 15 '17. The conversation in question took place in May '16.

If Papadopoulos information warranted opening FBI counterintelligence investigation in July '16, why did FBI wait until Jan '17 to even speak with him.
37) If Papadopoulos info was so critical, why was there no mention of information or Papadopoulos in any of 3 Intelligence Community Reports on Russian Election Interference.
38) Papadopoulos served as a convenient distraction from the true source of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Investigation into the Trump Campaign.

Former CIA Director John Brennan.
39) Brennan has repeatedly disavowed the Steele Dossier:

"I did not see it until later in that year. I think it was in December."

"It did not play any role whatsoever in the intelligence community assessments."
40) Why would Brennan not examine document claiming detailed and sourced evidence of very thing he was looking into.

FBI relied heavily on Dossier in Oct FISA Application.

McCabe testified no FISA warrant would have been sought w/o Steele dossier information.
41) Brennan and Clapper may have used information from the Dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment.

"Congressional leaders now suspect the dossier also informed Obama intelligence officials who compiled the ICA."…
42) House Intel final Report noted the following:

Finding #44: Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, now a CNN national security analyst, provided inconsistent testimony to the Committee about his contacts with the media, including CNN.
43) On April 4, 2018, Nunes sent a letter to DAG Rosenstein and FBI Dir Wray.

Nunes wants an unredacted version of the Electronic Communication (EC) related to the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign.

DOJ/FBI are resisting.
44) Nunes is member of Gang of Eight. Per Brennan, he was fully briefed in Aug/Sept '16.

Information contained in the Electronic Communication (EC) theoretically should be no different than what Nunes was shown back in August/September 2016.

So why the resistance.
45) Possibilities:

a) Brennan did not divulge all information to Go8. The EC does not mesh with representations Brennan made.

b) IG’s Inv has identified material issues with EC and cannot afford to have them divulged while Phase III of the Investigation continues.
c) EC contains information that conflicts w/Page FISA Application.

d) Reasons for initiating FBI Inv are weak/unsubstantiated – & don't rely on Papadopoulos.

c) EC highlights involvement of British & EU Intel Agencies.

e) EC exposes John Brennan’s primary role.
47) Papadopoulos was not reason FBI opened '16 Inv into Trump Campaign.

John Brennan was the reason.

Brennan was pushing entire Russian Narrative that's consumed D.C. – and ultimately led to Mueller Inv.

Brennan did so based on little or no evidence.

@LindseyGrahamSC & now-SCJ Kavanaugh discuss Military vs Criminal Law

Graham: "You don't have the Constitutional right to turn on your own government and collaborate with the enemy of the nation."

"You'll be treated differently."
The reality is it's more likely related to cases like this:…
BUT...on this special night...I'm going to let myself believe otherwise.

This nation needs to finally see some accountability.

1) In light of the US Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) I thought it might be relevant to re-up a portion of an older thread.

One that discusses trade deficits and under-employment.

Examples are inherently simplistic but many seemed to find this useful.
2) President Trump is attacking long-standing trade inequities as a means to revitalize our domestic manufacturing capacity.

A re-balancing of our entire trade policy.
3) The Balance of Trade – or Trade Balance – is simply the value of exports minus the value of imports.

A Trade Surplus means the Value of Exports exceeds the Value of Imports.

A Trade Deficit means the Value of Imports exceeds the Value of Exports.
