A year ago, POTUS bombed Syria after a chemical attack. No one panicked. This time people are crying WWIII! What’s changed? The Russians took no action last night. They claim there was no damage and no casualties. The jury is out on that.
We’ll find out more in the coming days about the damage and any loss of life. I’ve seen people trotting out the tired old we can’t be the world’s policemen canard to claim we had no business bombing Syria. It has nothing to do with our security, they say. We weren’t threatened.
Well, perhaps you should think about this. We don’t know who has chemical weapons, but you can bet that there are regimes like Syria that do. (I know where Syria got theirs, but that’s for another day.)
If the world didn’t respond to the use of chemical weapons in Syria, what message do you think that would send to other regimes that have them or are considering producing them? One thing we know about bullies is they only respond to force.
By bombing Syria twice, for using chemical weapons twice, a clear message has been sent to the entire world. The use of chemical weapons will not only not be condoned, it will prompt a powerful response. If you don’t think that involves our security, then you’re naive.
Every chemical weapon that exists is one more opportunity for some actor to smuggle it into the US and kill our citizens. You can bet that Kim Jong Un was paying attention to. And what he saw was not unilateral action by the US. So, he now understands the risks.
As for those who claim the chemical attack never happened, well, first you’re on the side of Russia now. Furthermore, you’re claiming that the US would launch missiles without any provocation and France and the UK would go along with it, and not only go along but join in.
It takes a special kind of crazy to think like that. I just blocked @Cernovich this morning for that stupidity. There is ample evidence that the attacks took place, and that’s without access to the data that POTUS has. Numerous leaders have said the attack is proven.
Suddenly Trump has joined the cabal? That’s a special kind of paranoia. On the same day he bombed Syria, Andy McCabe suffered a public humiliation. If Trump was now with the cabal, he’d be covering up McCabe’s crimes. Can we just please think for a moment?
I guarantee you that the US has data showing Syrian jets flying over the site where the attack took place while it took place. They have eyes on Syria 24/7 and know everything that goes on in the air. Do you seriously think that Macron, May, and Trump would all lie about that?
The best case scenario is that no one was killed and the chemical warfare capabilities of Syria were destroyed. We’ll know soon enough how close we came to that goal.
On April 11, 2017, Trump retweeted this: “RT @foxnation: Grateful Syrians React To @realDonaldTrump Strike: 'I'll Name My Son Donald' bit.ly/2oQbg6I #SyrianStrikes
“On 1/20 - the day Trump was inaugurated - an estimated 35,000 ISIS fighters held approx 17,500 square miles of territory in both Iraq and Syria. As of 12/21, the U.S. military estimates the remaining 1,000 or so fighters occupy roughly 1,900 square miles...”

We have to wait to see if another Syrian wants to name his son after Trump because of this attack, but the reality is, we attacked military targets not civilians, and we sent a message to the rogue regimes considering using chemical weapons. There are some lines you cannot cross.
For those who say war never solves anything, what did WWII do? That alone should be enough to shut you up forever. Or would you prefer that Hitler’s progeny rule over us?
The Pentagon is saying this was a one shot deal. Based on last year’s attack, I believe that. We are not going to war in Syria. Trump has stated publicly that he does not want to do that. This was not the beginning of US involvement in Syria. It was a punitive strike.
And I wholeheartedly support it. As a vet who has lost friends and family in war, I hate ever seeing our troops sent into combat. Unfortunately, the evil in the world makes that necessary at times. And our men and women almost always do their job with honor and integrity.
So let’s calm down, see what happens next, and save our condemnation until after we see the results.
Here’s a report from last year’s attack. 58 of 59 missiles hit their targets. imagesatintl.com/us-strike-syri… For Syria to have shot down 70 or more of the 100 or more fired this time, they would have had to have dramatically upgraded their defensive capabilities. I seriously doubt that.
Here’s some early info on what happened. redstate.com/grantgambling/…
If this is true, the Russians and Syrians are lying. dailycaller.com/2018/04/14/syr… “This multinational response reportedly “overwhelmed Syrian defenses,” which were primarily employed after the coalition strike had ended. “No Syrian weapon had any affect on anything we did,”
“French report lays out the evidence: Assad forces conducted chemical attack on civilians” usatoday.com/story/news/wor… Claims that the chemical attack is a false flag are not credible.
Addendum: Now that we’ve seen pictures of the destroyed research building, and we’ve been told that every missile hit its target, the question begs, what happened to Syria’s air defense system? If they failed to shoot down a single missile, there’s more to this than meets the eye
Moreover, we’re being told that Syria fired it’s missiles after the attack was over. Now, I don’t have #WictorWisdom, but this tells me that electronic warfare was applied. Somehow, the coalition partners managed to delay the response until after the attack was finished.
I don’t think this means they jammed the Syrian air defense system, because if that happened, the Syrians wouldn’t have been able to fire until after the jamming was turned off. But why would they fire then? What would they be firing at? So, I think we can rule out jamming.
That leaves a couple of possibilities that I can think of. (There obviously could be more that I’ve not thought of.) Either the Syrian system was hacked in such a way that the missile signatures were delayed, or there is some sort of EW that introduces a delay somehow.
I would imagine about now the Russians are furiously going over the systems trying to figure out what went wrong. They’ve also got to be seriously concerned about their own ability to fend off an attack. I’m hoping .@ThomasWictor will figure out what happened and thread it.
Anyway, I’m intrigued. I’m an old man. My knowledge of military systems spans the transition from vacuum tubes to transistors. So, I know little about modern technology. In my day, ECW consisted of jamming or confusing defense systems so they fired at spooks or their
coordinates were screwed up in such a way that they missed their targets. This is something completely different. The entire air defense system was not only blind during the attack but also was fooled into shooting at missiles that weren’t there after the attack was over.
That’s a whole ‘nother level of sophistication. Whatever our guys are doing, it’s working. And it’s pretty darn slick.

Let’s look at the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has testified that Kavanaugh tried to rape her at a party in 1982. She provided names for three witnesses. All three witnesses have stated that they have no recollection of such an event.
Furthermore, Ford’s friend, Leland Keyser, has stated under oath that she has never met Kavanaugh, either with or without Ford being present. Judge and Smyth both stated under oath that they have never seen Kavanaugh behave in the way described by Ford.
Apart from the lack of corroboration, Dr. Ford has also lied under oath. The crucial event that led to her restored memories was an argument over a second front door for their home. But we now know the second door was an entrance for renters that lived in their house.

In case you haven’t had time to look up Psalm 40, it is so completely apropos, that I thought it would be appropriate to reproduce it here. I’m going to capitalize some (IMO) important words. That will be the only alteration.
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the SLIMY PIT,
    out of the MUD and MIRE;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
Blessed is the one
    who trusts in the Lord,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to FALSE GODS.[b]

Many, Lord my God,
are the wonders you have done,
    the things you planned for

It’s Saturday Bible Time. Now is a good time to pray. Pray without ceasing. Pray when you’re working, when you’re resting, when you’re playing. Pray as much as you can. Pray earnest prayers. Ask God for intercession. We are at a crossing point. Prayer is the answer.
No matter what you’re doing, you can be thinking of God - and praying. Asking God to hold the devil spirits at bay. To bring his intercessory angels into the battle on our behalf. Most of all, pray to thank him for what he’s already done to bring us to this point.
Every day now I find myself thinking, I never thought I’d see that. When I see those things, I know that God is at work. He’s interceding on our behalf, building hedges of protection around us.

I find myself struggling to put into words the maelstrom of emotions churning inside me. I’m angry, a deep, white-hot anger, at what’s been done to Judge Kavanaugh. I’m disappointed that the GOP has once again acceded to Democrat demands.
I’m optimistic that Judge Kavanaugh will be appointed to the Court on Monday, as Leader McConnell has assured us will happen. I’m terrified that yet another false allegation will be thrown out this weekend, once again fouling up the process. I feel terrible for Dr. Ford.
She has been used and abused by the Democrats in the most vicious way possible. I’m furious at Diane Feinstein for being so transparently deceitful and blatantly political in her actions. My heart aches for the Kavanaugh family. They have been viciously slandered.

Even though they’ve clearly lost the battle, the losers continue to lie about Kavanaugh. AP FACT CHECK: Witnesses do not exonerate Kavanaugh yahoo.com/news/ap-fact-c…
Let’s look at what each of the fact witnesses said. Which, amazingly, the AP “fact” checkers put right in the article and STILL lied about it.
‘Even Mark Judge, who Ford says was in the bedroom when Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her, has not denied that such an episode took place. His sworn statement to the committee says "I have no memory of this alleged incident," ''do not recall the party" and "never saw Brett act

This may not be very popular, but I’m going to express my opinions about today’s hearing. I watched the entire thing, from beginning to painful ending.
First, Dr. Ford. I feel very badly for her. Thanks to the Democrats, she has been put through hell. (Don’t worry. I’ll get to Kavanaugh.) I believe her. I think she experienced something very traumatic. For some reason, she thinks it was Kavanaugh, although it was clearly not.
From the moment she reported her story, the Democrats took over and used her like a cheap suit. I don’t think she sees that now, but she will. And when she does, it will hurt - badly. She seemed to me to be in a great deal of pain. Who puts two front doors on their house?
