Let's talk about tonight's #Scorpio full moon. This year only one or two countries will celebrate this moon as Wesak, the day assigned to the Buddha's birthday. It will be next month's full moon in more countries, many who follow the sidereal zodiac.
Last night, I had a celebration, of sorts, attending a Sufi dhikr at a friend's house, led by a Sheikh schooled in the Sudan and other places where the tasawwuf is taught. It was magical and worth the trek back to Bed-Stuy, where I lived until last year.
The Sheikh made clear that this work was about the purification of the heart. I don't think he's into astrology. But I couldn't help but marvel at the timing of the event. That's what the #Scorpio full moon is about too.
Many of you will try to use this moon for "witchy" or magickal purposes. I'm not knocking that. But I think an important focus can be missed in attempting to work magic in your life. Magic isn't only about what you can make happen in your world...
...getting the wo/man you want, more money, a new house, etc. Too many people focus on the magic of acquiring things. But miss that you are the source of all magic, and more specifically, your heart. If your heart ain't right, it doesn't matter how much or what you acquire.
The moon in #Scorpio is considered "in fall" in astrological parlance. What that means is that it reflects a moment when your emotional/worldly attachments can be seen to have more of a hold on you than you have a hold on yourself.
This is one of the reasons why this time is assigned to the Buddha's birth. It also signifies what would be his enlightenment: the release from his attachment to the world to be and have it all (Taurus).
This is not a path of renunciation, though. Just the opposite. It's realizing that the source of goodness & all the things you deem good are not solely within your power & can't have power over you. Yet, you have power...
...this power though doesn't start from "out there," by only supplicating angels, daimons, spirits, God, etc. It starts from your own willingness to be vulnerable, to realize that what's broken in you is not forever. Your impermanence is also a gift.
It can free you from all the things that can seem to define you--what you don't have, what you have, what you've lost, or the fear of what you can lose. The Sun in Taurus represents having a grounding in Being itself. That can be its own joy.
Of course, this is somewhat mystical language. But you likely have had moments when you've just enjoyed the Sun on your face and knowing you are like its light. Yet, you neither possess the Sun & there's no magic you could wield to do so. I mean more like this.
So, it's fine to work your magic now. But remember the true basis of work like astrology, magick, tarot, etc is to lead you toward a deeper understanding and ability with your Self, without all your worldly baggage.
That way you can travel more through life with the "things" that truly belong to you rather than stuff you've acquired when you've not been "quite yourself." Happy #FullMoon :-)

So, I have a #Gemini rising buddy who knows me well, and knows what intrigues me astrologically, especially if a politically "mundane" astrological event also intrigues them. They've found one, since mundane astrology mostly bores me to tears. So, thanks & kudos to them.
Trump did something really interesting yesterday. He published an Enemies list, pretty much 47 years and a day before Richard M. Nixon did on August 16, 1971. Yes, that's a #JupiterReturn. So, that's the 1st interesting thing. Here are two charts for the two Enemy lists.
Nixon's enemy list publishing date is in the center and Trump's is the outer wheel. I used Regiomontanus for this chart cuz I wanted to see exact house cusps.
Looking at my #Gucci, it's about that time. It's #Cancer time. (Older heads will know, I likely don't literally have a Gucci. But a stroll down hip-hop memory lane is apt for this sign, no?)
And this is special for me since there might be folks of a particular sign, either by Sun, moon or rising, who are your Ride-or-die folks. Well, #Cancers are mine. I don't have to go looking for them or that. It just happens. Consistently. So, they're dear people for me.
Once consciousness has explored dimensions of risk & curiosity in #Gemini, it seeks out safety, responsibility, containment & renewal in #Cancer
On June 14, 6-7:30 pm EDT, I'll be hosting a webinar: "Discovering your part in your generation’s mission with Uranus." Uranus has gone into Taurus.
It’s now time for those born with Uranus in Sagittarius (roughly born between February 1981-December 1988) to step forward with their mission. This doesn’t mean other generations are off the hook, though. During this 90-minute webinar, I will clarify:
• How the 7-year transit of Uranus through a sign clarifies each generation’s mission
• When that generation will likely act on its mission
• Ways to discover how this mission will likely manifest in your personal chart.
As we move from time of the Ram (Aries) to the Bull, there's a shift from "Being" and an interest in fiery identity to embodying, holding, and having.
We could say that Light takes shape or form.
As the light of Aries crystalizes into shape & material expression, we find those changes in Taurus like greater groundedness, build-up of reserves of energy, more purpose in movement & a smoothness of coordination.
So, this convo about qualifications of this curator position for African art at the Brooklyn Museum has gotten me thinking about #SaturnInCapricorn. I would love to know if Brooklyn Museum purposely sought out qualified candidates of color, especially of African descent.
But I also can believe, per even the little I know about the Art AND Archeology field, since both new curators have degrees in that field, that there aren't many sisters & brothers in that field. We are not plentiful in all areas of academia & cultural institutions.
Yes, some of that is systemic racism and based on the root causes of systemic racism. That I've never questioned. But there's another issue here, too. Some folks also don't play the long game, either. That's #SaturnInCapricorn.
