To the person @AltWASONPS is talking, you aren't alone. WASO is an incredible person, and is with you. And there are so many more of us who don't even know you, who are with you. All of our stories are different, but we can come out the other side together I've been there, too. I lived for a couple decades with consistent emotional abuse and sleep deprivation. I prided myself on having thick skin and being able to shrug it off. But over the years, nobody can sustain indefinitely. I started to fall apart

I remember going through the HarveyRescue database updating rescue data, and seeing all the status updates. "Trapped in attic. No axe to cut through to roof." "Water levels rising; 2 people drowned already." Each one represented real people #HarveyVolunteer #RememberingHarvey 1/7 2/7 I clearly remember getting phone calls from terrified people who were trapped in their flooded homes, who didn't know if they were going to live or die. They'd heard of HarveyRescue, and were asking to be added to our rescue database. #HarveyVolunteer #RememberingHarvey 2/7

I have a lot on my mind, and I hope you will all bear with me as I share my thoughts about @realDonaldTrump’s supporters, his #MAGA base, and what it all means for America. I suspect this will be a long thread, so I apologize in advance. [1/x] I know most people are not as familiar with Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder as I am, so are not as sensitive to the signs that @realDonaldTrump shows. So I try to give his followers some benefit of the doubt. [2/x]

I was asked how I feel about yesterday's news about @PaulManafort and @MichaelCohen212. It's a really complex answer, so let me respond with a mini-thread. [1/15] I was excited watching the events unfold yesterday, and feel happy that there is yet more validation that crimes were committed (this time by an independent jury of peers), and that Cohen has directly implicated Trump in campaign-related crimes in sworn testimony. [THREAD] It’s easy to see all of the chaos and horrifying news, and feel overwhelmed and hopeless. It would be easy to give in to feeling depressed & give up. To avoid that, we need hope, and we need to feel that there are things we (collectively) can DO To come up with ideas for how to fix things, it can help to first step back from the overwhelming details and look at the big picture of how we got here. In this thread I'll give my thoughts about that, and then what I think we can do about it

[1/4] I did not see the Correspondents’ Dinner, so may admittedly be totally off base. But I’m struck by the coverage of it. I’m not in favor of judging women on appearance, and think Wolf could have made the same joke without the makeup reference. BUT... [2/4] Why the outrage over calling out SHS and Kellyanne as liars? I haven’t seen anything in the replayed clips that is as “mean” as the insults our President routinely hurls at anyone who doesn’t stroke his tiny ego, amplified by SHS and Kellyanne

[THREAD] There have been many discussions about the FL high school shooting and gun politics. Some of them well thought & interesting (regardless of political standpoint), some… not. I’ll add mine for folks to judge as they will. (As always, thoughts are my own, not my agency’s) First, is it too soon to “politicize” the FL shooting & start talking about gun control? Should we wait for an “appropriate time” for the discussion? NO. Families of the victims are calling for change. Kids who were in the classrooms watching people die are calling for change

[THREAD] I’d like to take a break from sharing & commenting on political news reports for a moment & just offer some personal observations from where I sit in the DOJ

As always, I don’t speak for the @TheJusticeDept. These are just my personal thoughts, feelings, & observations I’ve worked in multiple parts of the DOJ, including in the @FBI. I worked closely with Mueller, and like to feel like I got to know him fairly well. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him, and for his integrity

[THREAD] It's time to have some fun. I'm pulling out the crystal ball, playing Prof. Trelawney, and predicting Trump's future I'll make predictions both within and way outside of my areas of expertise, so my odds of success are roughly equal to Trelawney's
