Last night border abolitionists in Portland occupied an ICE facility, preventing ICE agents from leaving the building to go home. Around 10pm an agent attempted to leave, driving a large van. /1 Around 40 people gathered to block the van from the street. Portland's facility does not hold detained migrants overnight. People are held temporarily in cells in Portland, and ICE vans transport them to the Tacoma WA detention center, where they may stay for a long time. /2
