So yes, sending people gruesome beheading videos is decidedly not ok. (How does she know it was a Democrat, though?)

But it's puzzling how people like this didn't seem to mind when a woman was *actually murdered* and their President called her murderers "very fine people." 🤔 And I know this is essentially reverse whataboutism, but it's what infuriates me over and over:

The right always seems to draw the first blood, pretend they didn't, and then feign outrage when they provoke a reaction.

I can't with this shit. On the off chance you don't already know this, you can right click on a photo and it brings up the option to search for the image on Google.

Doing this on the above would immediately show you where it was from.

This is how I found the original "Klanbake" photo in 3 seconds.

I'd like to share the story of a Rosh Hashana miracle.

For two years -- TWO YEARS --I have repeatedly complained to @Xfinity that I was being charged for On Demand movies we didn't order. Including when we weren't home.

Many, but not all of them of the, um, adult variety. Every time it happened I would call and complain.

And the customer service rep would insist that the movie had in fact been ordered and watched in my home.

And I would know that it had definitely not.

"I'm a historian" Twitter is almost as good as "I wrote the article" Twitter. 😂 Saaaad. He blocked me. But not before I could see that he a) deleted his tweet and b) tried another tack, this time claiming a photo from a police funeral in WI was the Democrats protesting Coolidge's inauguration. #itneverends

Googling "how can you tell if fish is bad" is probably a sign that the fish is bad, right? Purchased Tuesday. Sell by date was today. Do I really need to throw out $25 worth of salmon? It didn't smell bad, just...strongly fishy. <weeping>

Two stunning pieces of #resistancegenealogy today:

@megansmolenyak returns to Lahren's tree (Yes! There's more!) medium.com/@smolenyak/the…

and this sheer unadulterated brilliance by Stephen Miller's uncle, which says everything I've ever tried to say.

politico.com/magazine/story… These people traffic in anti-immigrant stereotypes and propaganda. In myths meant to demonize.

But the unvarnished FACTS of the historical record show that we are indeed a #nationofimmigrants, including those now shouting loudest to close the door. #resistancegenealogy

I always assume everyone knows I know this.

Maybe not. Because we all know how rigorously memes like this are fact checked. And spell checked. 🤪

Do I know anyone at Scholastic publishing? Also need someone in kids' publishing at @simonschuster. For a good deed.

Dear @jdforward: DNA is actually an exceedingly useful tool for genealogical research. Your piece does a grave disservice by focusing only on ethnicity tests, and almost anecdotally at that.

I've reunited families and made amazing discoveries via DNA.

forward.com/culture/405388… @jdforward (The link to some random answer from Quora from a researcher I've never heard of was a nice touch, though. Perhaps next time you could save some time and just post an Internet meme about DNA tests.)

I have no experience with Native American ancestry, so I'm not the person to look into Elizabeth Warren.

But I can tell you that even if her 3rd great-grandmother was in fact 100% Native, there's no guarantee her DNA would reflect that.

So a lot of people have asked me to weigh in on Roslyn La Liberte.

And this story is a little murky, but it would appear that the boy in the photo has said she wasn't the one to say those things.

foxla.com/news/local-new… It sounds as if nasty things were indeed said, but no one confirmed if this woman was the one to say them.

Which might be a good thing to do before, you know, you trash her and harass her and ruin her business.

Maybe it was her. I don't know. Do the people sharing it?

This guy falsely claims the Democrats all "wore their sheets," at the 1924 Democratic convention.

Look at his bio. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

washingtonpost.com/news/made-by-h… OMFG, y'all.

I KNOW THAT'S NOT PETER STRZOK.

It's a troll pushing the klanbake meme.

A little thread about Moe Berg.

My late father was the greatest baseball fan I ever knew.

Grew up in the Bronx a NY Giants fan and later transferred his loyalty to the Mets.

A fan's fan. An intellectual fan.

And he adored Moe Berg. Had a framed picture of him in his office. My dad's father had a traumatic childhood. His mother died of TB when he was 13. He was the only one of his 9 siblings to live past 21. His first wife died in the flu epidemic of 1918.

He never once talked about his family. As far as we knew, he didn't have any.

Deep dive tk, but here is the 1910 census showing Kelly's great-grandfather Giuseppe Pedalino and his second wife Concetta. (Kelly's great-grandma died in 1898.)

He was a wagon driver.
She was illiterate and could not speak English 10 years after arrival.
#resistancegenealogy Here's John Kelly's maternal grandmother Teresa as a child in the 1900 census.

Her father, a day laborer named John DeMarco had been here for 18 years.
He had not become a citizen.
He could not read, write, or speak English.
