What business would Ron Perelman have in Turkey? Let’s take a look...

Perelman’s the Chairman of Scientific Games. Sounds innocuous enough, but let’s take a look at someone who recently resigned from the Scientific Games board...

Okay—that’s over, and its conclusion is exactly what we expected.

Voting is obviously the most important thing we can do at this point. Apart from that, what can we do?

This is what I’m going to do:

(1)
I’m going to dig into the FEC database and look into the big money donors—say, $25,000 and higher—for each and every sitting Republican Senator.

Bearing in mind that donations aren’t illegal, I’m not going to wrack my brain trying to connect money to legislation.

@maddow @SlaughterAM @senorrinhatch
In March 2017, Kavanaugh’s Whitewater partner Viet Dinh called Brian Benczkowski to “investigate” Trump Tower-Alfa Bank. Days later, Dinh donated to @OrrinHatch’s PAC. Hatch, of course, voted to confirm Benczkowski as Assistant AG, but there’s more... @maddow @SlaughterAM @senorrinhatch @OrrinHatch
Dinh is also on the board of Scientific Games.

Fun fact: Thirteen years ago I stood in the Illini Union, not far from the site of today’s speech, to hear freshman Senator Barack Obama speak while Senator Durbin fielded questions from those in the small crowd. It was obvious then that Obama was meant for bigger things. I felt like Durbin and Obama were my Senators, looking out for my interests. Although I live in North Carolina now, I still feel that Durbin has my back.

When Thom Tillis visited my workplace early on in his first year in the Senate, I didn’t even get up from my desk.

Can someone please ask @SecElaineChao, @SenateMajLdr, @LamarAlexander, and @JohnCornyn why FedSoc advisor/Heritage distinguished fellow Chao met with Gorsuch for dinner in January?

Seems important, as Kennedy’s retirement may have been known for months prior to his announcement, and Cornyn’s on the Judiciary Cmte. Which “other Senate colleagues” were present?

Also, did Chao and McConnell violate criminal law with this appointment?

Why was Brett Kavanaugh, during his tenure in George W. Bush’s White House, in communication with The Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo using his government email account?

@Rosie
@SenateDems Kavanaugh is a thirty-year member of The Federalist Society, who claimed to not fully understand the organization under questioning from Senator Durbin in 2004.

@NatashaBertrand I find it very interesting that in the same month that Benczkowski got the call to investigate the Trump Tower-Alfa Bank connections, the man who called him, Viet Dinh, donated to Orrin Hatch and Jeff Flake PACs. These are Dinh’s only donations for the 2017-2018 cycle. @NatashaBertrand Dinh’s on the 21st Century Fox board with Elaine Chao’s brother in law Jim Breyer, and was on the News Corporation board with Chao. Chao appointed two of Dinh’s, Kavanaugh’s, and Benczkowski’s Kirkland & Ellis partners, Steven Bradbury and Jeffrey Rosen, to DOT SES positions.

@mikefarb1 twitter.com/i/moments/9559… My money’s on Philip Anschutz as the mystery donor. The facts:

1. Anschutz is a Gorsuch friend/business associate who sent a letter to Bush’s staff in 2006 to ask for a 10th Circuit seat for Gorsuch. Although not on the short list, Gorsuch was confirmed. @mikefarb1 2. Anschutz gave $500,000 to McConnell-aligned Senate Leadership Fund on March 15, 2016.
3. Senate Leadership Fund’s treasurer, Caleb Crosby, was a former McConnell campaign staffer and treasurer of Kentuckians for Strong Leadership, which opposed Alison Lundergan Grimes in 2014.
