This is going to be the most open convention ever in the history of PDP. Without presidential powers to beat people into line, it boils down to the power of networking and structures. The governors have never seen their power whittled like this before. Reason is cos PDP controls Fewer states unlike before. So many states are up for grabs. The governors will either band or lose out. PDP Governors only control 15 States leaving 21 up in air. Out of the 15 states, two serving governors are in the pool. So, whoever the governors decide to support will have a

One of my favourite hotels in Lagos is Oriental Hotel owned by Baba. Two months ago,I checked in as usual to the 7th floor and decided to go to the 3rd floor for some Japanese treat with my family. By the time I returned,a porter had stolen 100k from the IM in my bag. I reported The matter to the hotel authorities who asked me why I didn't use the safe in the room. Nothing was done. It got me thinking, this is the story of Lagos. A beautiful structure like Oriental hotel that should be the symbol of professionalism in the tourism industry is rotten

INEC saw hell in our hands before between 2003-2012. In fact, I recall adddressing a press conference asking Jega to resign after the Anambra screwup. He apologized and got to work. The result is the renewed INEC. Are they saints? Hell NO! In fact, that organization harbors some Of the most unpatriotic Nigerians you can ever think about, but majority of them are patriots. You see, during the dark days of its history, any politician that had the means and clout strategically placed his/her people in that agency. The mole is to help rig elections.

“Mahmood wants to rig bla bla bla bla...”, they won’t tell you the same man had directed that ALL uncollected PVCs in the affected polling units be withdrawn from the local governments and quarantined in the INEC Vaults in Osogbo guarded by a crack squad of SSS, Police etc. They won’t tell you that the same Mahmood instructed the REC to give all the parties in the rerun elections the exact information of collected and uncollected PVCs in the concerned polling units which has been done.

Alright people, gather round your dinner tables . Let’s do this . I waited for four hours to let all the fake news flying around to settle. Let’s now give you all the correct details. On Aiyedaade incident. 👇my eyewitness Observer report of the incident at the Collation Centre On the allegations of “stealing” of votes by the INEC. 👇is the authentic result sheet of the elections. Anything outside this is fake news. I say this not only on my honour but as someone who was there with 125 observers.

If we concentrate half the time we are using to bash INEC on politicians and security agencies, Nigeria’s elections will be the best in the world. We( my colleagues and I in the CSOs movement) started this INEC bashing and we are telling you that there has been consistent Incremental improvements in their operations. We cannot say same about others in the elections value chain. Politicians, security agencies and the voters have all degenerated to levels never seen before , yet we continue to bash the only actor in the value chain that is making

Yet another rubbish talk. Let me walk you guys through how this thing works. U have your PVC, U go to vote, a SCR is provided, the ad hoc staff takes your PVC and inserts into the SCR. If it is REAL, it authenticates it as ORIGINAL. Step 1,completed. If it is CLONED, it will NOT. Let me analyze step 1 further to show you why NO “cloned” anything is possible. The PVC has Biometric information of the ONLY EXACT SAME PERSON that registered during the Voter Registration process. To CLONE,that same person will have to submit himself for his details to be taken.

@AbdulMahmud01 just raised a very valid point. Do y’all think that if @inecnigeria wanted to “rig” Osun election PDP will be in the position they are in right now? Come on people, I had narrated to us how we were in the collation centre in Asaba in 2011 waiting for results when Iwu announced the result for us in Abuja. When this Osun saga is over, I will do a thread on “How to Rig Elections in Nigeria & What INEC has done about it”. My problem with INEC is that they are not talking enough to enlighten people about the innovations they have put in place

Ok guys, countless peeps have tagged or mentioned me in Tweets asking my opinion on “the Kogi By-Election” situation. I have been silent on that matter Cos I was advised by my lawyers not to comment. The Kogi example is different from Osun. However, I am aware that a case has been filed before the Election Petitions Tribunal. Can't comment because it is subjudice. Now that judges have learnt to hold Social Media Commentariats in contempt, one needs to be very careful, I am not ready to eat half-cooked beans , yet. However, let me elucidate further on

OSUN 2018 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS: LEAVE MAHMOOD YAKUBU ALONE
A few hours ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the Osun State Governorship elections inconclusive. This bold action has triggered all manners of verbal umbrage against the elections Umpire but particularly, the Head of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.Conspiracy theorists have latched upon this action to vent their anger on a man whose only “sin” was that he was appointed by the current president. But before delving into the Incredulity of

In 2015, elections were declared inconclusive in Bayelsa. Why? The APC had manufactured numbers which were out of this world. If @inecnigeria had declared the results, Seriake Dickson would not have been a governor. The APC insisted that the results be announced but INEC refused. In that elections, the margin was over 150,000. In Kogi, the APC was leading in the initial poll before Audu died. They insisted that the results be announced,@inecnigeria under Mahmood Yakubu still refused . The margin then was huge, but the PDP had the chance to upturn it.

Someone who sat on the bed in his self-con room guzzling cold Trophy beer and surfing news sites on his worn out HP laptop, is controverting info provided by a veteran of elections who deployed 125 observers to the field, stayed up all night till this morning following results, Has people in all the collation centers, is right now at the collation center and is highly connected to the highest level to know what’s going on. I seriously don’t understand some folks. You think this is a game? One of my female observers collapsed right in front of me due to

Many of you must have heard all kinds of persons who know nothing talking trash about “they want to manipulate Oshogbo “results. I was determined to keep quiet until @inecnigeria announces the results and then explain it to you my beloved friends but not any longer. I will give u Privileged information. The reality is that the margin of victory is so slim. But the big quandary is that there are over 30,000 cancellations and many of this cancelled results are in the stronghold of one of the candidates. If precedence is anything to go by, then this election

Let me walk you guys through some innovations @inecnigeria has put in place to ensure #OSUNDECIDES2018 votes count. I will do a much more robust thread later. By 2pm anyone not on the queue will not vote.If there is no one left to vote the SCRs will automatically shutdown. If there are still ppl on queues to vote, the SCR shuts down by 3pm. Now, as soon as accreditation is done the @inecnigeria national server receives that information. This information is displayed in the INEC situation room where the chairman and other commissioners and directors

Ok, let me do a thread on what's going on in Osun that nobody is reporting. Only for you my people. You guys have been most kind to me, so won't start lying to you or colluding to hide stuff from you.I have always promised that I will say it as it is no matter what.Yes,it is calm Here. Very calm indeed, but I don't know if it is deliberate or an innocent oversight that no one has reported that one person was shot dead here in Osun three days ago.Not just any person but the owner of Bluetop hotel, a popular hotel here and a Chieftain of one of the parties.

People are alleging that @inecnigeria wants to “ban” use of phones. Pls people, discountenance these reports. It is simply not true. This is the truth . At a meeting with political parties and other stakeholders, a journalist and other persons raised the issue of vote buying And how phones were used to facilitate it. This of course was true Cos in Ekiti, many folks used their phones to photograph their duly thumb printed ballot papers which they in turn presented to vote buyers for payment. As part of the proposals on what to do about vote buying

Who is old enough here to remember how an unknown old printer, Sir Micheal Otedola( Femi Otedola’s father) became governor of Lagos during the 3rd Republic? In 1992/93, SDP was the party of progressives and the party to beat in Lagos. But the battle of supremacy and control That went on for too long between my egbon in the PDM movement, Dapo Sarumi and Agbalojobi became unbearable. Party Chiefs battled hard to contain it but the egos of both strong men could not be managed. Party loyalists were pitted against each other. You were either for Sarumi

Ours is a lawless society which is why corruption thrives here.During my Chevening year at the LSE in London,I was required to open an account for the £1,200 per month that the British govt pays me. As a big boy on high maintenance, that money was not enough o. So, I decided to arrange for some more cash. I got my staff to send me cash through two emissaries. The first person arrived and gave me £9,000 which I took to the bank. Two days later, the second person came with £5,000 which I also took the bank. That was where my

They say Kwankwaso is a Fanatic because he instituted the Shariah legal system in Kano. Ok,let’s assume without conceding that that’s correct. That simply means that virtually every far North Governor in that era was fanatical. After Zamfara, the next State to institute that was Katsina , under Yar’Adua and everyone will tell you Umaru was no fundamentalist. The mood at the time was what was needed to survive politically and many governors then did what had to be done to prevent a breakdown of law and order. Where is that matter today? Dead! I still

After lunch which for me was tuwon shinkafa and miyan kuka with 2 lean pieces of meat, we went to his favorite spot and smoked our cigarette quietly. Then I told him I want a contract. He looked at me and said I should go and bid and follow due process. I did and lost. Friend or no friend, Gov Umaru Yar’Adua was not one to compromise due process for anyone. In 2003, as we finished celebrating OBJ’s second term, my godfather in the PDM movement, late Alh Abubakar Koko, Sarkin Yakin Gwandu, summoned me. He asked me to get ready for the campaigns
