This is really hard to write. I’m a survivor of childhood sexual assault. I saw how Professor Hill was treated. I also went to law school. Childhood survivors, sadly, have a higher chance of repeated sexual assaults as adults bc we have low self esteem & are especially vulnerable to predators. It’s like we wear a label across our chests that says “potential victim.” We sometimes trust ppl others would know not to bc the lines were so blurred as children, & we were taught that love is abuse is love. Many days, I hate myself.

1/A thread on Feinstein, De Leon, & the CA “Dem” party. 1st, know that the CDP is headed by Eric Baumann &, like the “Justice Dems,” isn’t made up of Democrats @ all. In fact, Baumann has sent cease & desist letters to anyone calls their group “Dems”: 2nd, this endorsement makes no sense on many levels. Feinstein got over 40% of the electorate’s vote in the actual primary, w De Leon getting ab 11%, so the CDP decided to go against the will of the ppl (sounds oddly like the superdelegates Bernie claimed were “undemocratic,”

Thread: On privilege: Oppressed grps differ from privileged ppl, & 1 way ppl often overlook is that having privilege means not being forced to deal w oppression every day or unseeing it. Ppl in oppressed grps are told we’re “obsessed” w “finding racism everywhere,” for example. Here’s the problem-it’s not an “obsession” to see oppression everywhere for ppl who don’t have the option NOT to deal w it all the time. We can’t just turn off a switch & stop being discriminated against. Some privileged ppl act as tho we talk ab these things bc we just have

1/Well, it should be, but the reason we have to assign it an actual slot is bc society isn’t assigning value to Black lives yet. So, when the media also starts talking ab the fact that Black kids die from guns @ 10x the rate of white 1s or marches for Ricky Dixon, let us know.

Here’s my problem w the “all lives matter” stuff: the fact that ppl feel the need to draw attention to something society already assigns value to (white ppl), means they are missing that the reason there’s a need to say #BlackLivesMatter is bc we have not yet assigned them value.
