When we say "Abolish ICE" we are playing right into their hands. They were LAUGHING at me about it.

I know it feels good to "take a stand" but in this case there is a real cost to irresponsibly sloganeering.

A big theme of the protest today, as always, is "Why?"

Let me explain why, because blaming NRA $$ is only half right.
1/ 1st, let's talk about NRA. Originally a sportsman organization, members were hunters who paid dues & voted on policy positions. Dues funded hunter safety classes, including classes geared towards women. They were not against gun control or gun safety.

Misguided, but legit.

I have taken classes at the Leadership Institute. Berners can add this to the list of "evidence" that I'm a "secret Republican" but I consider it gaming the system. Also, like the Iowa gig, it was really interesting to peek behind the curtain.

1/ As a civic education group, Leaderhip Int gets federal subsidies. (I'm not sure Democrats have anything similar but we should.) They have tons of classes: social media, research, campaign management, graphic design, media training and they are DIRT CHEAP

1/ First, let's talk about "Bernie's bill" m4a. It's not legislation, it's a campaign document. Yes, it was introduced and has cosponsors, but it has no funding mechanism. Meaning, there's nothing in it that addresses how to pay for it.

These aren't the right questions. 2/ There's no statutory standard for impeachment. It's solely up to the discretion and whims of the House, so Paul Ryan. They don't need a reason. You can compose in the program or copy and paste your essay. It formats your text into a thread of tweets then you clean them up so the breaks are where you want them. Then you set them to go out on a timer.

Should I do a Twitter Tips thread and go over how these tools work? There's nothing nefarious, but there's some cool free stuff we use for professional accounts that anyone can use.

We can't believe ALL women, because every time true motivations of women like "Grace," Leeann Tweeden, Susan Smith, Ashley Todd, Casey Anthony, or Tawana Brawley come to light, it reflects on our credibility and makes real victims less sympathetic and more easily dismissed.
9/ I understand that false reporting of sexual assault is at the same level of any other crime, but that's the justice system, not the court of public opinion. Other crimes aren't as newsworthy. The consequences of anonymous, spurious allegations are not as profound.

Maybe it's different for me because this isn't theoretical. This is the working environment I inhabit. Because Franken was not offered due process, any man knows he can't expect it either. The only way to avoid a similar fate is the Pence rule, don't be alone with women.

I see too many people saying we should let women accuse whoever they want and throw the book a them without any investigation or follow up.

No. Allegations should be investigated like any other crime.

Women should get the benefit of the doubt but the doubt doesn't go unchallenged.

The thing about these open secrets is, you get so used to them you forget how shocking they are. You don't think to mention them because everyone knows, it's just how things are

1/ My first job out of college was answering phones in the Senate. 2/ When someone wanted to influence an upcoming vote they did the same thing, flood the zone with advocacy driven calls.
