Self-discipline isn't something you have or even that you are.

It's a symptom of doing what you know you need to do to achieve what you want to achieve.

You have the Desire.
This results in Doing.
As a result you Achieve.

Retroactively, it can be described as disciplined. Desire: Get Jacked.
Doing: Lift, Move, Eat Well.
Achieve: a good body.

Desire: tell a story that needs telling.
Doing: write, film, record, draw.
Achieve: Birth of Artwork

Desire: Buy a house
Doing: work, save, invest
Achieve: a place to raise a family

Adjective: Disciplined

Studying digital ritual.

Interesting how Christians, Pagans, Secular and others all have parallel arguments about the location of "meaning":

- in the act
- in the understanding of said act
- in the intention of the agent
- (there is no "real" meaning) Much of this seems to come back to the philosophically basic concept of subject and object.

In ritual, the objective element would be "what happens" while the subjective would be "the experience of what happens".
