After asking a question about Russian treason arrests at a Russia investment breakfast in London while working for Reuters, the event organiser refused to allow me into a Turkey investment conference. By shielding themselves from reality, investors get it catastrophically wrong. It seems fundamental that you would want to know that people are being arrested for contacts with foreigners. From a business point of view, never mind human rights.

This is what happens when you bank on dictators. So often the financial world equates authoritarianism with their own imaginary concept of stability and thinks they can ignore human rights abuses and still make a profit. But the human rights abuses are an indicator of how unstable the government is!

Dozhd confirms that Graham Phillips was arrested at the Georgian embassy in London. At an exhibition by an artist who depicted the war with Russia he shouted phrases like "Fascists!" and "NATO zombies!" Video in the link. Wow, he is really off his meds in that video.

This genius thinks Trump, Putin and Erdogan "get things done". The “Trump of the East”, President Duterte of the Philippines, has a similar disdain for etiquette — and approval ratings of 88 per cent.

Paul's right. It's not just RT that's spreading this Glenn Greenwald rumour, it's everyone. Greenwald recently went to Moscow and afterwards boasted that all the opposition journalists aren't dead because the Ekho Moskvy editor-in-chief was on a panel with him. Here's Greenwald on the RT panel.

Greece responds angrily: "Today’s statements from the spokesperson of the Russian MFA are a characteristic example of disrespect for a third country and a lack of understanding of today’s world, in which states, regardless of their size, are independent."
mfa.gr/en/current-aff… "The evidence based on which Greece acted was presented to the Russian authorities in a timely manner. In any case, the Russian authorities themselves are very well aware of what their people do."

Noticed that Oren Dorell, the fantastic journalist who wrote about my list of suspicious deaths in USA Today hadn't tweeted for a while. Shocked to learn that he has been killed in a hit-and-run in D.C. while riding his motorbike. What a tragedy. google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.usat… Oren was writing about Russia's war in Ukraine before everyone became obsessed with Trump-Russia, and even received a certificate from the Ukrainian embassy for his coverage.

Rep. Steve King asked Facebook at a hearing the other day why The Gateway Pundit isn't getting more traffic. Its tagline is "We report the truth - And leave the Russia-Collusion fairy tale to the Conspiracy media." And it runs stories like this one: "Unhinged Democrat Lawmakers Call For Trump's Interpreter in Putin Meeting to Testify Before Congress."

Exactly right. Otherwise why would native English speakers who know next to nothing about Ukraine tell you authoritatively that "Glory to Ukraine!" is a phrase used by neo-Nazis?

Russia's election interference was more than an attempt to influence voters. They pulled out all the stops and used every dirty trick in the book to do whatever they could to get Trump elected, which by the way they're very happy about. That's what hybrid war is. If they could have just manipulated the results using the voting machines, they would have done. They certainly tried.

Trump: We'll be talking to President Putin about a number of things. Ukraine. We'll be talking about Syria. We'll be talking about other parts of the Middle East. I will be talking about nuclear proliferation... We are massively big and they are very big... "And hopefully we'll have a very good relationship with Russia... That's a good thing, not a bad thing."

American student Colin Madsen was found dead in a forest in Siberia in April 2016, eight days after he had disappeared from the house where he was staying. A forensics report just provided to his mother Dana Calcutt says the evidence suggests he was killed. She is seeking facts. Russian police were obstructive during the search for Colin, which Dana participated in. They concluded that he died from hypothermia. The forensics report notes that Colin did not remove clothes, as many hypothermia victims do, thinking they are hot. One of the curious elements.

Could all players and fans at the @FIFAWorldCup please remember that Russia is currently invading Ukraine and therefore it isn't polite to express support for Ukraine. It hurts Russians' feelings. Take some basic etiquette lessons. In Russian if you say "в Украину" to mean "to Ukraine" it hurts their feelings because they don't consider Ukraine to be a country. Say "на Украину" to indicate that you think Ukraine is just a territory on the edge of Russia.
