You know how I know Dr. Ford is telling the truth when she says she knows with absolute certainty that Brett Kavanaugh tried to rape her? Because when you know your assailant, it's impossible to be mistaken, and it's impossible to forget. I wrote this two years ago, 11 years after my rape, because a sexual assaulter had just gotten elected president. There's no poetic licence here. The thing I keep coming back to is that, for a white man so assured of his innocence and desperate to clear his name, Kavanaugh seems incongruously resistant to the witnesses, testimony, and investigation necessary to actually do so.
