Unless people, LOTS of people, are willing to make extreme sacrifices, NONE OF THIS will have been "worth it." Hate groups are emboldened. America's soft power is shattered because no one can trust us to keep agreements now, that means more wars.
Thousands died in Puerto Rico due to intentional negligence. We are traumatizing MORE children because blatant white supremacists are in power. The Revolution didn't materialize & people adapt to the abuse. The courts will be fucked for decades. Don't tell me this was worth it.

The Pueblo Sin Fronteras Caravan in Mexica has been in the news a lot lately and the focus of Trump's obsession. How many people do you think are part of that group of migrants?
Just take a guess based on Trump's response to it.
Or, do you know how many Liberians will be subject to deportation after Trump suspended Deferred Enforced Departure?
Caravan: Less than 2,000
Liberians: Less than 5,000

A properly functioning guest worker program would reduce undocumented immigration & make it harder for companies to exploit their workers.
That last one is probably why we don’t have a functioning guest worker program.
See, right now an employer can hire undocumented workers and underpay & abuse them, safe in the knowledge that if their employees complain, the employer can just call ICE.
And because ICE is so brutal, the worker is less likely to complain.

So, yeah, about that.
I put in my two weeks notice.
I work at Montana Department of Labor.
There were going to be ICE subpoenas for information that would end up being used to hunt down & deport undocumented workers.

It would have been my responsibility to prepare the information and hand them off to ICE.
I refuse to aid in the breaking up of families. I refuse to just “follow orders.”
This isn’t an easy decision as it puts me in a delicate financial position.
