Again - this isn't a "colleague" this isn't her "boss" this isn't anyone she even works with. This guy is a dude she is seducing for information, plying him with alcohol, pretending to be his friend, when all she wants is information from him.

In two years I’ve gone from an anonymous account with 0 followers, to a semi-public figure touring college campuses across the country.

I don’t talk about mindset very often, but I do lead by example.

Set outrageous goals and force yourself to rise to the challenge. I promised I’d write a book even though I’d never done it.

I promised I’d tour the country, even though no one had ever asked me to speak.

And now I’m getting offers to do political consulting…

All by having a vision and working tirelessly towards it.

It was an honor and a privilege to meet @JonHaidt last night. I cite his work heavily in #DemocratToDeplorable. I gave him a copy of the book as he signed my copy of Righteous Mind.

Told him I was speaking at Evergreen. His advice: read How to Win Friends and Influence People. I asked him a tough question: "now that the implicit bias test has been debunked, what does that mean for Righteous Mind's main thesis?"

He said that did in fact have to go back and make some changes to both Righteous Mind and Happiness Hypothesis now that the IAT is bunk.

“I love coaching more than anything else I’ve ever done in my life but thanks to you, I may never be able to do that again in my life.” I was emotional before. But man, I just lost it. I feel his pain. I feel it so hard.

When everyone and everything is the same....

Nothing can be beautiful. If you believe in beauty, you believe in differences, which means you believe in unequal distribution of capabilities, resources, and desires.

Most men would be terrified if they really understood the depths of female sexuality. Most of our norms and mores around sex are meant to restrain and obscure female sexuality.

I’m not a scientist but I suspect the root of this behavior comes from human female’s relatively hidden estrus.

This sounds crazy dystopian. But really, its smart financial sense. It rewards the healthy and punishes the unhealthy. Sure in initial phases it will be less accurate that later versions...but the intent here is good.

The healthy subsidize the unhealthy in all insurance.

You have to see your vision when you close your eyes at night. That future you doing something you think is cool and exciting and the right thing to do.

Picture that future you. Soak in his confidence. Listen to what he would say to you.

There is power in that visualization. If we are talking about my future self talking to me he’d probably say something like, “don’t be a pussy. It’s not that hard.”

But you know, you do you. Probably be kinder.

We all can benefit from being kinder to ourselves actually.

Me especially.

At little league this weekend we didn’t see our favorite umpire. So we asked around.

Turned out he died three weeks ago at age 55.

Total shock.

We will miss him.

Be grateful for today people.

You never know when it could be all over. A sad element to this story was that my old co coach and I realized we didn’t know our favorite umpire’s name.

We always greeted each other with hey “coach” and hey “blue” and man hand shake turned bro hug.

I’d known him for five years. But didn’t know his real name.

He said that social media seeks "limbic resonance."

The limbic system is our ancient brain and where the passions reside.

Social media taps directly to that system.

Trump's rhetoric does the same.

Social media multiplied its effect. Trump communicates as if he is entirely Id.

This has limbic resonance.

Social media is a limbic resonance seeking missile.

Trump + Social media = direct connection to our ancient brains.

Millennials aren't marrying partially because they're poorer, have more debt, and higher employment than previous generations. Some crazy stats from the US Census Bureau:

- Total living in poverty has gone up by 60% since 1980 to 13.5 million

- 41% of men earned less than $30k "Millennials are the first generation in the modern era to have more debt, poverty, and unemployment, as well as lower personal wealth and income, than the two preceding generations at similar life stages."

In a long term relationship, one with trust and care, being “resolution oriented” is one of the best ways to ensure longevity.

It’s not easy - it takes empathy - and that’s a scary word to many.

But a preference for resolution over conflict makes relationships work long term. Every relationship needs a tool box.

Because relationships take work and tinkering and need on the fly repairs.
